I've been working in the field for 15 years and enjoy the opportunities to connect with others in a meaningful way. I predominantly work with young men struggling with social anxiety disorder. Do you struggle with social anxiety and poor self-confidence? I know that overcoming it is possible! Many come to therapy for social anxiety because of childhood trauma and how it has manifested in their adult lives. Often this manifests in feelings of poor self-confidence, poor self-worth, and poor self-confidence. At its root, the fundamental belief of those who have social anxiety is the belief, “I am not enough.” Clients get into the habit of comparing themselves to others and it makes them feel inadequate and insecure. Over time clients begin to avoid situations that elicit their anxiety, particularly social situations. This can lead to social isolation and loneliness. Clients will present with complaints of frequent panic attacks, not having a romantic partner, not having friends, not being happy in their jobs and feeling disconnected from life. They are labeled by others as shy, quiet, or introverted. This scenario described myself for much of my life which gives me lived experience to better able to assist you. I help individuals combat their social fears and begin to live a rich and fulfilling life. I do this through cognitive behavioral therapy techniques primarily but also integrate solution-focused therapy, assertiveness training, exposure therapy, and acceptance & commitment therapy. Whether you're a teen struggling to make friends and socialize or you are an adult unable to speak up at work meetings or unable to ask someone out on a date, I'm here for you! Seeking therapy can be frightening but I want to assure you that you will be most welcome if you take that leap of faith!
I am a caring and skilled therapist. I have a great deal of experience and a well of therapeutic techniques to draw from depending on what works best for you. I specialize in individual and couples work with adults. I accept people where they are at and provide them with empathy regardless of their background. I am curious and compassionate.

Hello My name is Kianna and I have been working in the mental health field for more than 25 years. I attended undergrad at Colgate University where I studied Sociology and Biology. There I developed a passion for Mental Health and a thirst to understand why people do the things we do. I attended the Syracuse University School of Social Work and majored in Mental Health. I have worked with diverse populations of all ages since then and came to find that I enjoy working with people who have come from disadvantaged backgrounds, people of color, women, Autists, and persons living with Anxiety and Trauma of all kinds. Trauma comes in many forms and the abuser can be a member of your family, a stranger and even your society.
As a Social Worker of color, I was drawn to becoming a therapist after my own struggle to find a therapist that looks like me. I want to dismantle the stigma that many communities carry about seeking help for mental challenges and show people that everyone can benefit from a better relationship with themselves.
I became a therapist because I've always wanted to help people grow through the challenges and obstacles in their lives. I combine a holistic, strengths-based approach when working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, college adjustment, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, grief/loss, pet loss, and trauma. I believe that there is nothing more empowering than discovering your inner strength and developing the courage to work through life's most difficult moments.
Before I received my MSW in Social Work, I became a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist. I also received my Bachelor's Degree in Creative Studies and writing. I enjoy working with clients who are open to both traditional modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Somatic practices that support and help regulate the body's response to stress and dysregulation by incorporating breathwork, meditation, yoga, and mindfulness skills.
I have always been drawn to the healing arts and the introspective work that can be found through psychotherapy, creative arts, writing/journaling, and yoga. I have been learning and engaging in these practices since 1998. It has been a lifelong passion of mine to bring these therapeutic modalities together to support the whole person so that my clients can discover their personal path to healing and live a more balanced, peaceful life.
Struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, or OCD can feel isolating, but help is available. I specialize in working with late teens and adults to untangle complex emotions and build lasting resilience. Clients often find my therapeutic style easy to connect with, creating a secure environment for genuine progress. If you are ready to understand what’s holding you back, contact me for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are the right fit.
Are you feeling stuck, unempowered or overall lost? Pain is a part of life, but you don't have to go through it alone. When life gets too overwhelming, we often experience confusion, disillusionment, disappointment, anger, sadness, fear, addiction, or a sense of numbness. I create a non-judgmental and empathetic environment to explore your thoughts and emotions, where we can find solutions together. My goal is to empower you to uncover your strengths and find your path toward building and reclaiming the healthy life you deserve.

I have a number of eight plus years of experience working in preventive services, crisis intervention and providing therapy services. I provide a safe, affirming space where you can show up fully as yourself without judgement. I believe healing happens when you feel seen, heard, and respected. Together, we'll explore your strengths, and work through challenges in a safe space.

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained at NYU with a multi-state virtual practice. I take a deeply individualized approach to addressing the problems that you want to change, so we can figure out together the best way forward. Most of my training is based on the Cognitive Behavioral Model in which I will help you try out dozens of different therapy tools to find out the perfect combination that works for you. I am also a firm believer that our mind does not exist independently of our body, and caring for our body is a foundation for good mental health.
Therapy can feel broad and overwhelming. To simplify our approach, we'll seek acceptance and control of adversities that seem to dictate your life. Whatever stressors weigh on you, we'll troubleshoot what hasn't been working and process new tools to put in place. It is my responsibility to adapt to your preferences and ways of learning. I'll provide a space for you that can range from open discussion and exploration, to structured activities and weekly goals. Additionally, these steps are flexible and can be done in a matter of time that fits what you hope to achieve. All possible with individual, couples, and/or family therapy.
Life is complex, causing us to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, and disoriented. Let therapy be your compass. I'm trained in individual psychotherapy as well as couples & family dynamics. Thus, we'll think systemically about your presenting concerns as needed, helping to reduce individual burdens that come with depression, anxiety, and other presenting problems.
Having grown up in the helping field and being exposed to a variety of challenges, it is my pleasure to lend insight and support throughout your own adversities. I have helped a wide variety of clientele, including end of life care, couples on the verge of divorce, and addiction, to name a few. I look forward to the potential of working with you.

Hi, I’m Dan Hoefling (he/him), a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, trauma specialist, and the founder of New Chapter Mental Health Counseling. I provide active, collaborative virtual therapy for adults across New York, Florida, and Vermont who feel stuck in repetitive loops of anxiety, childhood trauma, or intense emotional triggers like anger. My clients often describe me as patient, deeply listening, and grounded, but I am not the kind of therapist who just nods along silently while you vent.
My approach is highly active and integrative, blending Internal Family Systems parts work with somatic, body-centered awareness and mindfulness tools. I believe that your current struggles, whether that looks like a harsh inner critic, an automatic defensive reaction, or a constant state of physical restlessness, are simply survival strategies that your system built to protect you. Outside of my clinical credentials as a Level 2 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, my background in yoga and meditation heavily shapes how I work. I don't see you as a list of symptoms to be fixed, but as a whole person capable of deep resilience. Together, we work to safely step out of survival mode, replace self-blame with genuine curiosity, and help you author your next chapter.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine conversation. My approach is down-to-earth, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, balancing compassion with honest feedback when it's helpful. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves while also feeling supported to change patterns that no longer serve them. Whether you're navigating anxiety, OCD, relationship concerns, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, we will work together at a pace that feels right for you.

I've tried to live my life by the word "YES", which I wrote on the rear of my VW van in the 70's. As I've aged this has shown me the way through many difficulties. I studied Psychology in the 70's, eventually leaving doctoral work to open a Stained Glass studio and eventually obtained a second MA degree in Social Work. leading to my work here. Along the way I've garnered many different paths of therapeutic work and learned how to use them to fit the clients I work with.
