Welcome to my page! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in California. I completed my Masters from Hope International University and have been practicing over the last 7 years. Previously, I enjoyed a successful career as a Cytogenetic technologist, a science background in genetics that I feel adds to the science of the brain (psychology) to better support my clients. I absolutely love working with teens, adults and older adults supporting them in their most vulnerable moments of their lives to facilitate healing, develop healthy skills, and /or find their purpose in life.
I work with individuals who grew up with a pervasive sense that they were “outside the box”. Perhaps this was due to neurodivergence, cultural differences or struggles with gender and/or sexuality. Many of my clients arrive with previous diagnoses of ADHD, autism, anxiety and/or depression. They often have a creative side that has been suppressed in order to focus more on developing a professional self. Many of my clients report feeling like they have to wear a mask in the workplace and in social situations. It is not uncommon for them to feel lost, numb or lacking direction in their life.
As a therapist, my strengths are in my ability to follow creative lines and tie together seemingly complex thought and behavior systems to give you deeper awareness of the issues that present for you. My education and experience in community health and mental healthcare has prepared me as a therapist to provide therapeutic care that goes beyond asking deep questions. My approach to therapy is non-judgmental and is driven by the strengths of my clients.
If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Together we can find a path.
I have worked in the behavioral health field for many years, both in direct practice and in executive leadership roles. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how people heal, grow, and create meaningful change in their lives.
My approach is trauma informed, collaborative and client‑centered. I work alongside each person to explore their concerns, clarify their thoughts, and reconnect with their desires for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life. I believe everyone deserves that opportunity, and therapy can be an important part of the journey toward it.

I hold space with reverence and respect for your trust and bravery in showing up, and respond with genuine understanding, intelligence, insight, acceptance, and compassion. Are you tired of the non-stop chatter in your head judging every move you make? Is the constant loop of negative thinking making you feel like you are not good enough? No matter how many times you try to talk yourself out of this—you just can't seem to shake it. You are doing all the things you’ve been told to do and yet something is missing. You feel alone. You feel misunderstood. You feel anxious. You turn to food, alcohol, Netflix, or whatever else that can make these feelings go away. You promise yourself that next week will be different. You will start the new diet or the new program, you will commit to being a new you.
What if there is another way? I work with women to get this cycle can end. There can be freedom from the despair caused by believing that you are not good enough. You want a deeper connection in your relationships. You want more joy in your life. You want less stress and worry. I can help you get there. There is a different path.

Hello! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California, with over 17 years of experience guiding individuals, couples, and families toward healing, growth, and transformation. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Human Development, a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from National University, and a Doctorate in Applied Psychology, has given me the knowledge, expertise, and compassion to support you on your journey.
My therapeutic approach is depth-oriented, yet adaptable and inclusive, drawing from extensive study in psychology, human development, relational, and spiritual orientations. This foundation enables me to seamlessly integrate various modalities and theories to address complex issues, such as childhood trauma, complex trauma, and early emotional pain. Through my experience, I've come to understand the importance of developing personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual's unique needs, experiences, and goals.
I feel each individual enters the therapeutic relationship in their own distinctive way. I strongly believe that every person is the author of their own story and unique in their narrative of what change looks like for them on a personal level.
I am passionate about helping people make change both big and small that will enhance their sense of seIf and ability to create more meaning and authenticity in their lives and relationships.
I first and foremost adapt my style of therapy to meet your needs. We work together to identify what best supports you toward your goals or areas of focus in therapy. Some clients progress through insight and understanding about an issue while others progress through tangible present-moment skills and tools, all of which I can provide support you with. I also feel that Identity (race, gender, sexual orientation, etc) plays an important role about how we experience the world and how the world views us and I incorporate this into therapy. I see therapy as an equal and collaborative effort between us.
I offer a broad range of personal experiences and clinical background to therapy. I enjoy working with people of color and I identify strongly with them. I have extensive experience working with couples, mixed race individuals, inter-racial relationships, the LGBTQQI community, and athletes.
I believe I have a great feel for supporting you to be comfortable entering into therapy. Finding a balance of acceptance of you and where you are at in your life while also supporting you with the change you want to make. I offer inquisitive questions to inspire critical thought with tangible actions and tools that you can use.
Do you feel like you have the insight but don’t quite know what to do with it- how to process it or heal? You are not alone. I help individuals and couples move beyond the surface to work through what is keeping them stuck. I use IFS, EMDR and other modalities to connect you to your wounds, unprocessed memories, and blocks. Together, we set to discover the parts of you that hold pain and unlock your full potential by exploring what is holding you back.
Couples:
If it feels like you’re speaking different languages or having the same argument over and over, you may be stuck in a negative cycle that’s hard to see from the inside. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), rooted in attachment theory, to help partners reconnect, communicate vulnerably, and rebuild.
Oftentimes, what stands in our way is fear—because we have a deeply rooted need to feel safe. I understand. It’s much easier to stay in something comfortable than to risk the unknown; our minds and bodies are wired that way. My hope is to reflect your strength and worth, and to provide a safe, trusting space where you can feel seen, heard, and valued.

Therapy for anxiety, depression, psychosis, and self-doubt.
For the curious, the sensitive, and the ones who've been told they're “too much.”
If you’re here, maybe you’re carrying a lot. And maybe you’re finally ready to understand why.
I work best with clients who are curious, self-aware, and ready to get into the real stuff — not just the “I’m fine” script. If you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, self-doubt, or the aftershocks of a mental health diagnosis like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder — you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.
I work with adults (mostly 26–46) who are insightful, emotionally intelligent, and ready to explore the patterns beneath their symptoms. My clients often identify as women, queer, gay, or somewhere in between. I also love working with family members of folks with serious mental illness (SMI) — and with people living with SMI themselves.
You might be a student juggling survival and identity, or a person who’s held it together for too long. Maybe you've been misunderstood by providers in the past — labeled “too much” or “treatment resistant.” I see you differently.
I’m pro-medicine, pro-choose-if-you-want-medicine, and pro-you-get-to-decide-what-healing-looks-like. (And honestly? Medication saved my life.) We’ll work together to figure out what works for you — whether that’s weekly therapy, biweekly check-ins, or monthly deep dives.
This is a space for unlearning shame, untangling patterns, and giving yourself permission to take up space — even when it feels hard. Let’s get into the layers. Let’s do the work.
I provide humor, warmth, and a compassionate, non-judgmental place where you can feel safe to share your concerns. Together, we will work to make goals and through goal-directed activities and conversations, help you make positive changes in your life. I can include faith-based treatment if wanted. This will be work, but it will be worth it.
My approach
I use an eclectic, person-focused approach tailored to your individual situation and goals. I incorporate CBT, DBT, mindfulness techniques, and solution-focused approaches. This flexibility allows us to form a treatment plan that meets your specific needs and helps you reach your goals.
.
Treatment goals are set as a team, with you determining what your desired outcome from treatment is, and me assisting you in creating the goals based on how best to assist you with the realistic goal you have set for yourself.
I have over a decade of experience working with a wide variety of clients to address what matters most to them regarding their mental health journey. I work from a collaborative, strengths-based approach. Let's figure out what is going well and build on that.
I have lived all over the country and have had to privilege to work with many excellent mentors who have helped me grow in my knowledge and skills.

What a degree in Clinical Psychology and a seven-year journey as a therapist has allowed me to is delve deep into the realms of trauma, anxiety, and depression. While these are my primary focuses, I also bring profound insights into PTSD, intricate family dynamics, relationship challenges, and concerns faced by the LGBTQ community.

A little about me, personally: I identify as an artist and child of the earth, as diaspora has scattered my ancestors across the Arab world, Africa, Europe, and North America. I am fascinated by intersectionality and the powerful ways that resilience shapes our multi-hyphenate individuality. It is important that I take care of myself so that I can be a pillar of support to my clients. The way that I release painful feelings is by channeling them into creative projects. I also work hard to stay connected to my body and my surroundings. Whether it’s through writing, building clay sculptures, beading, or making collages, self-expression is a healing practice. I encourage everyone to play a little bit!
I have been in practice for 30+ years and as a clinically trained social worker. I have served in several interesting capacities. My goal as a therapist is to be a part of the therapeutic process in guiding you forward to find the fulfilling life you deserve. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) originally from just outside of New York City and currently live in San Diego. Working to support the mental health of others is truly my greatest honor. We are often programmed by our previous experiences, culture, and past trauma to believe a false narrative about ourselves. Utilizing the therapeutic alliance, I help clients to resolve negative, false, or limiting beliefs that may be hindering their ability to step into their true identities. We do not have to continue to live out the script that we inherited or feel the need to live in the shadows. Instead, we can live with intension, purpose, and a sense of gratitude.
Are you navigating relationship challenges, parenting struggles, or life transitions and ready to build healthier patterns? Are you looking for a safe, non-judgmental space where your feelings are truly heard?
I specialize in working with millennial and Gen Z women who are juggling relationships, parenting, and personal growth. Whether you're managing relationship dynamics, co-parenting stress, or figuring out who you want to become; I'm here to help you shift from what's not working to what does.
My style is warm, compassionate, and interactive. I use curiosity and genuine connection to help you discover new perspectives and tap into your own wisdom. Together, we'll uncover your strengths and create the meaningful change you're seeking.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable and overwhelming, but my down-to-earth, relatable approach makes it feel natural and easy. I look forward to supporting you as you build stronger relationships with others and with yourself.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step my approach is all about making the process feel comfortable, supportive, and down-to-earth—like a real conversation, not a clinical checklist.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, going through a big life change, or just feeling stuck, we’ll figure things out together at your pace. I bring a warm, relaxed, and non-judgmental energy to every session, and my goal is to create a space where you can be your full self—laugh, cry, vent, reflect, explore… whatever you need, it's all welcome.

*I only work with individuals, no couples, no minors (under 18)*
Trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, I am available to help clients navigate trauma, anxiety, relational issues, communication skills, depression, and stress management . As a first generation Eritrean American born and raised in the Bay Area, I struggled with a sense of belonging throughout my adolescence, often straddling the line between multiple identities and insecurities surrounding the idea of not being “American enough" and not being “African enough.” Early on in college, I took a psychology class that helped me further understand the human condition and its applications in my own life. I learned transformative concepts in terms of moods, relationships, and behaviors, prompting me to further pursue the field of psychology. Since then, I have taken it upon myself to get advanced training in various therapeutic approaches, which I believe help clients get the most out of their therapy experience.
