I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
My ACT practice helps clients build psychological flexibility. I guide them to practice mindfulness and acceptance of difficult internal experiences (thoughts/feelings). By clarifying their core values and committing to action that aligns with those values, they stop fighting their internal world and create a richer, more meaningful life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My extensive experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) centers on helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and resulting behaviors. I use it to teach practical skills, like cognitive restructuring and behavioral experiments, to foster immediate symptom relief and lasting change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) primarily to treat severe emotional dysregulation and relationship challenges. My focus is teaching the four core skills modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. I emphasize the dialectic of acceptance and change to help clients build a life worth living.

I really appreciate how approachable Chang is. I feel like there's a lot about him that stands out in regards to how the session went: he's empowering, holistic, authentic, and warm. I think those are the ones that truly stood out for me. I really appreciate the way he gave space for me to talk and was also very responsive; he was actively listening and helping to hone in on what I was feeling. Definitely looking forward to working with him!
