Hello, my name is Yesenia Segovia, with an LCSW based in California. I work with individual who live in the state of California. I specialize with individuals who experience feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, struggling with life stressors such as school to work transitions, work stressors and balancing life, parenting, relationships (adjusting to being new parents, adjusting to new romantic relationships, struggling with relationships) and family challenges. If any of this sounds familiar, we can work together to get you to a more positive space of mind. These life domains can feel challenging. I am here to help and provide some support and some relief. Through our sessions, you will learn more about yourself and how to care for you.
In our first session, I hear from you about your challenges. You take the lead about your goals for therapy. If you are feeling stuck, no worries, we can identify goals together. Being vulnerable can be challenging, I strive to create a warm and safe place free of judgment, so you feel comfortable sharing. After your first session with me, you will feel heard, supported and most likely have some motivation towards improving your self growth.
My biggest strengths are listening, being warm, bringing calm, understanding, validation, and empowerment. You will not find judge Judy here. Creating safety in therapy is important for our services together, no judgement. In addition, we work together to navigate the difficult terrain of your mental health concerns, to reach your goals of well-being. In my years of experience, I have been able to help many individuals reach their goals and heal.
If you are ready to start therapy, I may be a good fit for you. If you are ready for your journey to feel empowered, feel seen, and heard. If you are wanting to stop your people pleasing tendencies and learn how to put yourself first and learn the important boundaries to do so, then you have come to the right therapist. Are ready to want to understand your barriers and patterns, and you are ready to learn real life tools, to help manage your day to day. Schedule a session with me.
I have been implementing Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in my practice for many years. CBT is helpful in a range of challenges. CBT is helpful to understand the relationship between, thoughts, feelings, and actions. Implementing this treatment in practice aids with challenging negative thinking patterns and help to rewire your brain into a different thought process.
Strength based approach is a focus on one's positive abilities rather than weaknesses. Through strength based we identify your strengths and build upon those strengths to your unique situation and challenges. Therein, to build self-worth and trust within yourself, a great step toward working on self-growth. Sounds easy, but it takes some time to implement these types of changes.
Solution focused is an important part of treatment. Many clients come session ready to have some solutions. In session, we will work on identifying possible solutions, for you to practice outside of the session, to gain empowerment and learn to trust yourself more and more.
