Hello, my name is Yesenia Segovia, with an LCSW based in California. I have been working in the field for 8 years. I work with individuals who are going through stressors from school to work transitions, work stressors and balancing life, parenting, and family challenges; to get to a more positive space of mind. These life domains can feel challenging, where you feel you may be drowning. I am here to help and provide some support and relief. Through our sessions, you will learn more about yourself and how to care for you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I hear from you about your challenges. Together, we will develop goals for your therapy journey. I strive to create a warm and safe place free of judgment, so you feel comfortable sharing. After your first session with me, you will feel heard, supported and most likely have some motivation for your improving your self growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are listening, being warm, bringing calm, understanding, validation, and empowerment. In addition, we work together to navigate the difficult terrain of your mental health concerns, to reach your goals of well-being. In my 8 years, I have been able to help many individuals reach their goals and heal.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My dream client is one you who is willing to start the journey and try to create change. If you are tired of the same cycle and want to create a positive change within yourself, but don't know what to do or need some accountability; then we will work great together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been implementing Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in my practice for many years. CBT is helpful in a range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues and so on. CBT is helpful to change negative thinking patterns, understand one's behavior increase problem solving skills and increase confidence. It has been my experience, many clients have positively respond to the CBT strategies and are able to work toward positive growth.

Strength-Based

Strength based approach is a focus on one's positive abilities rather than weaknesses. Through strength based we identify your strengths and build upon those strengths to your unique situation and challenges. Therein, to build self-worth and trust within yourself, a great step toward working on self-growth.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution focused is an important part of treatment. Many come ready to have some solutions. In session, we will work on identifying possible solutions, for you to practice outside of the session, to gain empowerment and learn to trust yourself more and more.
