I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 12 years of experience providing counseling services to teens, adults, couples and families. I'm also a 22Zero Follow Me, Inc. Certified Resiliency Coach for TRP & EMP trauma processes and a Certified Prepare-Enrich Facilitator for couples therapy (Traditional and Christian approaches). I offer clients a safe space to talk about their concerns that is both non-judgmental and affirming.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial sessions, we will explore the current issues and collectively create a plan to address them in a way that helps restore healthy functioning. Many of my clients notice a decrease in symptoms and an increase in level of functioning after a few active sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Taking the first step toward therapy can be challenging, yet rewarding. Through my humorous, yet authentic, solution-oriented, and holistic approach in therapy sessions, I empower you to think, feel, and walk in hope that change is possible for you. If you're ready to begin the journey of hope toward change, contact me today to schedule an appointment!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I provide counseling to teens, adults, couples, and families. My targeted population is men and women of color living with trauma and of Christian faith.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is primarily used in my practice along with other therapeutic approaches to meet your need. In your initial session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and determine the most appropriate ways to make progress. Through CBT, we'll navigate how unhealthy thoughts affect your mood and response to people, places, and situations. During sessions, I'll help you learn how to restructure your thoughts, regulate emotions, and improve functioning. Counseling tools utilized in sessions include but are not limited to, cognitive restructuring, building empathy, conflict management, problem-solving, role play, stress management, bibliotherapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, coping skills, and guided imagery.
