About me

Hi, I’m Emily Fox, LCSW. With more than ten years of experience in the mental health and addictions field, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience into the therapy space. I work primarily with adults (18+) who are navigating challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, postpartum mental health, parenting and motherhood, and persistent co-occurring diagnoses. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are and walk beside you on your journey of healing and growth. My approach is strengths-based and whole-person focused. I believe that real change happens when we make space for your entire story—your struggles, your resilience, and your potential. Clients often describe me as compassionate, authentic, and down-to-earth. In our sessions, I strive to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to explore whatever you are carrying, without fear of judgment. I am trained in a wide range of evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, ACT, REBT, EFT, CPT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Traumatic Incident Reduction, and more. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model—together, we’ll collaborate on an approach that best fits your goals and needs. What fuels my passion for this work is my own path of personal recovery. That experience allows me to bring not only clinical skill but also genuine empathy to the therapeutic relationship. I know what it feels like to want change but not know where to begin, and I honor the courage it takes to take that first step. If you are looking for a therapist who will support you with compassion, honesty, and effective tools, I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing and transformation.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I am best positioned to serve adults (18+) who are ready to take meaningful steps toward healing but may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or discouraged by past experiences. Many of my clients come to me navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, postpartum challenges, or the stress of balancing parenting and motherhood. I also work closely with veterans who are coping with the unique challenges of military service and reintegration, as well as individuals living with persistent or co-occurring mental health concerns who are seeking stability and growth. I specialize in supporting those who feel like “therapy hasn’t worked” for them in the past. Whether you’ve tried different approaches without finding lasting change or you’re unsure how to move forward, I meet you where you are—with compassion, honesty, and evidence-based tools tailored to your needs. My clients are often looking to release the weight of past experiences, strengthen their relationships, develop healthier coping strategies, and reconnect with themselves in an authentic, grounded way.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my therapeutic approach apart is the blend of clinical expertise, lived experience, and a whole-person perspective. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter therapy—each session is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lived reality. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based methods (CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, CPT, TIR, and more), which allows us to pivot and adapt as you grow, rather than forcing you into a rigid framework. Clients often tell me that what feels different in working with me is the balance of compassion and practicality. I bring a realness into the therapy space—normalizing your experiences while also challenging unhelpful patterns and equipping you with tools you can apply outside of session. My goal is not just insight, but lasting change that shows up in your daily life—better coping, stronger relationships, improved mood, and more confidence in facing what once felt overwhelming. Because of my own recovery journey, I understand both sides of the healing process: the clinical strategies that work and the lived experience of sitting in your seat. That combination creates a space where progress feels possible, even if therapy hasn’t worked for you before. Clients leave with skills, clarity, and a renewed sense of hope.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT tapping is an effective intervention I often use for trauma, grounding, mindfulness and building awareness to confidence.

CBT is used in many treatment plans as an option to a very effective long standing evidence based therapy practice.
