LMHC, 21 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and I am also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I primarily work with individuals pursuing college (all ages and degree levels), Military and Veterans, and I have specialized training and experience working with people who have disabilities such as medical/health, psychological, learning, physical, and sensory diagnoses. I offer virtual counseling to anywhere in Florida and offer flexible appointment times including evenings and weekends. With over 15 years of working on college campuses, I am uniquely aware of the significant personal, social, and academic stressors that post-secondary students experience, including the challenges students with disabilities encounter. I also have direct experience in working with people on the autism spectrum attending college as well as United States Military Veterans who are pursuing education after their service. Counseling can assist with emotional support, development of coping skills, and self-understanding and growth during this transitional time.
In our first session, we will work towards developing a positive therapeutic relationship while exploring your reasons for seeking counseling. This is will assist us in creating a direction and plan for your counseling journey.
As a counseling provider, one of my strengths is the ability to connect with clients and meet them where they are at. I provide an inclusive, friendly, empathetic, and positive environment where we will work together to establish greater control in your life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is one of the most evidence-based and widely used treatment modalities in mental health care. CBT is grounded in the understanding that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected, and that by identifying and restructuring maladaptive thought patterns, we can improve emotional regulation and behavioral responses. My approach often begins with psychoeducation, helping clients understand the cognitive model and how it relates to their symptoms. I use a collaborative, structured approach, and set clear goals. I collaboratively assign exercises such as mood tracking, thought records, or behavior logs to reinforce learning.I routinely assess progress using outcome measures and client feedback. I adjust the treatment plan as necessary to ensure it remains client-centered and goal-oriented.
Motivational Interviewing is not about persuading, confronting, or directing clients. It's about partnering with them, helping them explore their own reasons for change, and supporting their autonomy and self-efficacy. I find it especially powerful in helping clients move from resistance to readiness in a respectful, empowering way.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-directed, future-oriented approach that helps clients focus on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It’s especially effective in counseling sessions because it encourages clients to tap into their existing strengths and resources to make positive changes in a relatively short amount of time.
Reality Therapy emphasizes personal responsibility, present behavior, and making effective choices to meet needs. Reality Therapy, developed by Dr. William Glasser, is a practical, client-centered approach focused on helping individuals take control of their lives by making better choices that meet their basic needs in responsible ways.
