From a very early age, I knew that I wanted to be a psychotherapist. I have always been a great listener, completely nonjudgmental, and full of tremendous empathy. I can also understand the anxieties of feeling one must pick a career, have a social life, and find a mate while managing finances, school, work, and friendships; it can sometimes feel overwhelming. I like to tailor my work to the person sitting before me. Some people do well with homework and others do not. I do not have a set way of working with people; everyone is different. I do tend to provide a fair amount of feedback, as I know some people worry they will be sitting in silence and feeling, once again, alone in their journey.
In our first session, I will gather some background information to help me better understand you and your history. We will talk about what goals you may have and begin to determine what it is you would like to gain or change from being in therapy.
I continue to train in psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness practice, eating disorders, and trauma.
