About me

Hi, I’m Chris I truly believe that seeking support is an act of courage, and I don’t take it lightly when someone invites me to walk alongside them. My style is down-to-earth, compassionate, and real—I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, without pressure or judgment. I’ll listen closely to your story, offer guidance when it’s helpful, and encourage you to set the pace for your own growth and healing. I also believe in finding strength in the small steps forward, and I’ll celebrate your wins with you while helping you navigate the hard parts. You can expect honesty, encouragement, and sometimes a gentle push when you need it most. At the heart of my work is the belief that change is always possible, and that with the right support, you can create a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and true to who you are.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take things at a pace that feels right for you. It’s really just a chance for us to meet, for you to share what feels important, and for me to start understanding your story. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say—I’ll guide us with questions and gentle conversation. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and comfortable as we begin building a trusting relationship. From there, we’ll start to explore what you’d like to work on and how I can best support you moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is that I truly meet you where you are. I blend evidence-based methods with a compassionate, down-to-earth style that helps you feel both supported and empowered. While I may introduce tools and techniques to help you manage challenges, I believe the real work happens in the safe, trusting relationship we build together. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I listen deeply, offer honest but gentle feedback, and help them find practical steps that create meaningful, lasting change. My goal isn’t just to help you get through difficulties—it’s to help you grow, heal, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling. My commitment to ongoing learning and professional development ensures that I remain informed about the latest research and best practices, further enhancing my effectiveness as your therapist

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

All too often the impression of therapy gets misrepresented. This causes many people to avoid taking the necessary steps. The fact you are reading this means you have decided to take charge and embrace growth and change. My hope for you is that you are open to personal growth, motivated to make positive changes, and willing to engage in honest self-reflection. You may be navigating life transitions, struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, substance abuse or seeking a deeper understanding of themselves. When working with me, you will find a collaborative therapeutic relationship, where trust, empathy, and active communication are central. Ideally, you are committed to working through your challenges, even when the process feels difficult, and are open to exploring new coping strategies or perspectives. I take great pride in providing a safe, supportive space in order for you to heal and grow emotionally.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

My expertise lies in 3 approaches to therapy. Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Our sessions will be fluid, not constrained to one approach but purposeful. I utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) in therapy to help you explore and enhance your intrinsic motivation for change. By employing a collaborative, empathetic approach, I create a safe space where you can openly discuss your struggles and concerns about making changes in their lives. Through reflective listening and open-ended questions, I guide you to articulate your values and goals, helping you connect your aspirations with actionable steps. This process will encourage you to identify and overcome any barriers to change, fostering a sense of ownership over your own journey. By reinforcing your autonomy and strengths, Motivational Interviewing empowers clients to commit to positive actions, ultimately leading to sustainable change and personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In therapy, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to your emotional and behavioral difficulties. Through collaborative discussions, we will explore how these thoughts influence feelings and actions, and together we will work to reframe them into more constructive perspectives. You will be equipped you with practical tools, such as reframing your thoughts and behavioral experiments, which empower you to test out new ways of thinking and behaving in real-life situations. By focusing on specific goals and measurable outcomes, CBT fosters a sense of independence and sense that you are in control of your thoughts, feelings and behavior thus enabling you to develop healthier coping strategies and improve your overall emotional well-being. This structured approach not only addresses current issues but also equips you with the skills that you can use long after therapy has ended.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you embrace your thoughts and feelings without judgment, fostering psychological flexibility and resilience. Through ACT, we work on developing mindfulness skills that allow you to observe your experiences rather than becoming overwhelmed by them. This process encourages you to accept difficult emotions as a natural part of life, rather than something to avoid. Together, we identify your core values and set meaningful goals that align with those values, empowering you to take committed actions despite any internal struggles. By integrating acceptance with action, ACT helps you build a more fulfilling life, focusing on what truly matters to you while learning to navigate challenges with greater ease.

Trauma Informed Care

I am trained and certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which is a highly effective trauma treatment in which YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TALK ABOUT YOUR TRAUMA. It is simple and can eliminate symptoms of trauma in just one session. If you feel your trauma experience has negatively affected any areas of your life, let's do something about it today.

For the first session number 1 he was late, and I didn’t feel he had compassion for my issues. Pushing opinions on me during first session does nothing but make me run the other way. Do better

The therapy session was really hard as it was my first couples therapist session in a long time. Therapist handled an extremely difficult and awkward situation with professionalism.
