Hello! I am is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a master's degree from Albizu University. I like to think I have a warm and genuine personality which allows my to approach therapy lead with empathy and openness which fosters an environment of safety, trust, and non-judgement. With education and expertise in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Parenting. I have been thankful enough to successfully work with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of concerns: extensive trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting difficulties, behavioral difficulties and self-esteem struggles. If you find that these traits about myself feel comforting and validating for you I look forward to meeting you soon!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, clients can expect to not feel judged, have someone who is willing to listen to their side of the story, ask and answer questions that are relevant and important to your well being, feel validated and empathized with, and feel confident that someone is wanting and willing to help you understand yourself to make real change. I hope to begin every first session a "get to know you " section, explanation of my role as a therapist, and review your goals that make you feel like therapy can be worth all the nervousness that brought you into the first session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I strongly believe in the power of collaboration, working alongside my clients to identify the unique needs of each individual I work with. In my free time,I enjoy spending time outdoors, practicing mindfulness, and engaging in creative pursuits. These personal interests influence my therapeutic approach, as I believe in the healing power of nature, self-reflection, and self-expression. I believe that my education expertise and empathetic presence helps empowers my clients to overcome obstacles, discover their inner strength, and lead fulfilling lives. My greatest strengths as a provider would go under as empathetic, validating, reflective, and mindful of where you are and where you are ready to go in this therapy journey.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I help people handle their emotions and improve their relationships. I can teach skills like staying calm in tough situations, understanding and managing feelings, and communicating effectively with others. DBT is often used to support people who have strong emotions and want better ways to cope.

Trauma-Focused CBT

In Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Trauma-Focused CBT), I help people work through difficult experiences and trauma. I can teach skills like understanding and changing negative thoughts, managing distressing emotions, and building healthier coping strategies. This therapy is often used to help people process trauma and reduce symptoms like anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In Mindfulness-Based Therapy, I help people focus on the present moment and develop awareness of their thoughts and feelings.I can teach skills like observing without judgment, accepting experiences, and responding thoughtfully rather than reacting impulsively. This therapy is often used to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, helping people become more aware and accepting of their emotions and thoughts.

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT)

In Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), I work with parents and children to improve their relationship and manage children's behavior. I coach parents on how to use positive reinforcement, set clear rules, and handle challenging behavior calmly and effectively. This therapy helps strengthen the parent-child bond, reduce behavior problems, and improve communication and cooperation within the family.

Motivational Interviewing

In Motivational Interviewing, I help people find their own reasons for making positive changes in their lives. I use open-ended questions, listen carefully, and support the person's autonomy to explore their motivations and overcome ambivalence. This approach is often used to help people who are struggling with addiction, health issues, difficulty of change or other life changes, encouraging them to move toward their goals at their own pace.
