As a dedicated licensed mental health counselor and wellness advocate, I am passionate about guiding individuals towards holistic well-being through the integration of mental health support and lifestyle adjustments. With a compassionate approach and a commitment to personalized care, I strive to empower my clients to cultivate resilience, achieve balance, and thrive in all aspects of their lives. Drawing upon evidence-based practices and a client-centered approach, I provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Whether facing anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, chronic illness, grief and loss, or life transitions, I offer guidance and strategies to promote healing, self-discovery, and personal growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clients can expect a welcoming environment designed to facilitate open communication and establish a foundation for the therapeutic journey. We will initially discuss what brings them to therapy and if they have participated in the therapeutic process in the past. We will explore what their current struggle is and how they have been managing it discussing things like what has been helpful and not helpful. The first session is also about building rapport and trust which is paramount in developing a therapeutic relationship. We will begin to lay the framework for developing goals with the understanding that therapy is a collaborative process. Towards the end of session we will establish meeting times and frequency for the next session and touch on any questions or concerns the client may have.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

What I feel makes my strengths as a provider unique is my holistic approach. As a licensed mental health counselor with over 28 years of experience as well as being a certified personal trainer with a focus on health and wellness, it allows me to assess my clients in a more complete way to address their mental health concerns. I have worked in a myriad of settings throughout my career so I have experience in a lot of different areas. I also take an eclectic approach to therapy which allows me to use different modalities to best serve my clients.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My experience and currently my desire is to work with women primarily, unless it's couples counseling. I am skilled to help women adjust to life transitions, deal with grief and loss in their life, educate them on how to cope with life's stresses, chronic illnesses, anxiety, adhd, assess unhealthy patterns in their daily life and develop better strategies for not only their physical health but also their mental health. I also desire to work with individuals/couples struggling in their relationships and enjoy teaching them ways to better communicate, compromise and resolve conflict in a healthier manner.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I primarily take an eclectic approach to therapy, I incorporate a number of modalities but primarily use CBT as a foundation. I tailor my approach to each individual and their needs to help them develop healthier thought patterns and behaviors which leads to improved mental health outcomes.

Couples Counseling

I have worked with couples for over 15 years. I help couples reach a peaceful and respectful exchange for communication as well as conflict resolution. This strategy can help you not only in your relationship but also within friendships, your work environment and family relationships as well.

Grief Therapy

I worked with Hospice for over 13 years and facilitated grief groups and individual counseling for those persons who had experienced a loss. Grief is a difficult process to go through, a client will experience a supportive environment, empathy and compassion when working with me. I also provide psychoeducation on how to deal with the heavy emotions associated with it.

Mind-body approach

I am holistically trained and focus on a person's mind/body connection. Part of my assessment of a client includes the basic pillars of mental health which include: sleep, exercise, nutrition, hydration, mindfulness practices. With this information we will construct a plan that will not only help with your mental health and stress management but also your overall health.
