My name is Hope Kleckley, and I am a licensed mental health counselor and a Certified School Counselor with extensive experience in the field. I have made it my mission to empower and support children, families, senior citizens, and individuals who struggle to advocate for themselves, ensuring that they receive the guidance and care they need. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Shaw University, where I developed a strong foundation in understanding societal structures and issues. My academic journey continued at Webster University, where I obtained my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, equipping me with advanced counseling techniques and knowledge. Throughout my career, I have specialized in a range of areas, including trauma-informed care, behavioral disorders, and ADD/ADHD. I also focus on social-emotional learning, recognizing its critical role in the development and well-being of individuals, particularly children. My therapeutic approaches include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps clients reframe negative thought patterns, as well as person-centered therapy that emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship. I incorporate mindfulness techniques and play therapy to create an engaging and effective therapeutic environment. With a deep commitment to fostering resilience and personal growth, I strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those I work with, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive.
Clients will receive therapeutic sessions that encourage active listening, supportive feedback, and I will cognitively challenge and refocus my clients as needed. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is safe, nonjudgmental, and welcoming to everyone. Lastly, I want my clients to remember that there are healthy ways to cope with the stressors in their life.
Being able to set healthy boundaries with my clients, being a good listener and knowing when to interject into the conversation, holding my clients accountable, being respectful of the client's time, providing a nonjudgmental space for my client's to feel safe, being flexible, knowing when it is time to release the clients from treatment are positive attributes I have attained.
I don't adopt one specific methodology, because there is no specific client. Instead, I utilize my expertise by asking my clients what their ideal therapist looks like from their individualized point of view. After building a rapport with my client we begin the therapeutic process. You will not see results overnight because it takes time to create a tailored approach, and it takes time to build trust. Every client has to work on their individual goals in strides.
I believe that therapy can be a complex situation without the proper support and treatment. I try to incorporate a range of therapeutic techniques unique to the needs of my clients individually. I try to make sure I address the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects associated with treatment in a safe environment.
I have a multitude of years and experience working with children, families and adults that have faced obstacles and challenges that seemed to hard to bear. Every client is different, and so are their specific needs in regards to treatment. I am dedicated to providing support utilizing a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual client.
