(she/her)
Hello, my name is Elyce, and I’m so glad our paths have crossed. Has life been feeling overwhelming lately? Are there things you’ve been wanting to work through? Do you long to be truly heard and understood? Life can be challenging at times, but you don’t have to face it alone. Together, we can explore the difficulties you're experiencing whether they’re related to trauma, phobias, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship struggles, or life transitions. My goal is always to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you feel empowered to heal and grow. It’s okay to take time for yourself, to focus on what matters most to you. I would be honored to walk beside you on this journey. A little about me: I’m originally from New York and now practice in Florida. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 15 years as a special education teacher in NYC, working primarily with students with emotional and behavioral challenges and those on the autism spectrum. I hold an Ed.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Seton Hall University and bring over eight years of clinical experience to my practice. I specialize in working with young adults and adults navigating the lasting effects of trauma. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in creating a space where you can reconnect with your authentic self. Together, we’ll work to transform pain into resilience and help you step into the strongest, most empowered version of yourself. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to take that next step I’m here for you.
I am very open minded and nonjudgemental. In our first session, it is my job to listen and hear what you would like to work on. Together we can create a plan for success. After that, we'll dive into the specific challenges you're currently facing. This will help me understand what’s going on for you and begin creating a personalized plan to guide our work together in future sessions. I cannot wait to see you become your best self.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. I bring 24 years of experience as a special education teacher, which has shaped my ability to connect with individuals who have diverse learning and emotional needs. Over the past eight years, I’ve worked closely with homeless young adults who have experienced significant trauma, PTSD, and anxiety. I’ve also supported autistic young adults using behavior modification strategies to build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and increase independence. These experiences have strengthened my ability to meet clients where they are, build trust, and use trauma-informed, individualized approaches to guide them toward healing and personal growth
I’m passionate about helping my clients gain the tools they need to thrive. The people I work with are eager to grow, heal, and become the best versions of themselves but they often feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious because of unresolved trauma. They know they want more for themselves, but aren’t sure how to get there. That’s where I come in. With specialized experience in helping individuals process trauma and develop practical, sustainable coping strategies, I create a safe, supportive space where growth can happen. Together, we work to break down the barriers that are holding you back so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and peace.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a method I’ve incorporated regularly in my practice to support individuals in understanding the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My experience with CBT spans both individual and group settings, working with clients facing anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and stress-related issues. Overall, CBT has been effective in helping clients build awareness, develop coping strategies, and foster lasting change.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic method I’ve been trained in and have used to support clients dealing with trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and other distressing life experiences. My experience with EMDR involves using it as a structured, 8-phase approach to help clients process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional intensity. I’ve found EMDR especially helpful for clients who have tried traditional talk therapy but still feel “stuck.” Its ability to access deeper memory networks without requiring the client to re-tell or re-live the trauma in detail can be incredibly healing.
