Hi, I'm Katie, a Licensed Clinical Social. Helping and supporting others has been a driving factor in my life; therefore, I began my career as a teacher. My education and experience in the classroom greatly influenced me; however, I saw how difficult it is to learn when one is struggling with many emotional and mental health needs. While in graduate school, I transitioned to working with families in more of a case management role. During that time, I started noticing how the adults I worked with were often struggling and had not received the help they needed. After completing graduate school, I began working in an inpatient hospital that treats mental health and chemical dependency. After several years working with patients individually and facilitating group therapy, I transitioned to managing an intensive outpatient mental health program for senior adults. In this role, I facilitated group therapy and met with patients individually at times. I greatly enjoyed getting to know my clients and cheering alongside them as they made progress. While I value group therapy, I recognize that it is not the right fit for everyone. Therefore, I have set up a private practice to meet the needs of individuals in ways I was unable to do in previous roles. I believe change is possible and that each person has strengths and life experiences that they can draw upon to help themselves move forward. My passion is helping clients utilize what they already have, learn additional tools for coping, and develop healthier ways of thinking.

I am a clinical social worker, therapist & life coach. I collaborate with clients in facilitating their ability to navigate their journey through change. I provide clients the opportunity to learn, change and grow, and I provide guidance for them to learn healthy adaptive ways to improve their response to encounters with life stressors and challenging life situations. Clients are engaged in various evidence based therapeutic interventions and the exploration and discovery of their untapped potential, so they can harness the necessary skills and strategies to facilitate behavioral change. In the scope of my practice I aim to empower clients through sessions that are based on a holistic, client driven approach. I view clients through the lens of their personal environment, as their well-being is significantly shaped by their environment. In addressing clients presenting issues, I take into consideration the correlation between their presenting issues and their environment; i.e., social, cultural and physical, that contribute to current challenging life circumstances. Focus is given to past experiences and current situations to help them navigate their therapy encounter and future successfully.

I have experience helping people with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, bereavement, loss, family/relationship conflicts, self-harm, anger management, parenting, child welfare system, foster care, adoption, school transitions, divorce, abortion, survivors of narcissism, career changes, stigmatized experiences and other major life changes. I love working with people from all ages and walks of life. We will work at your pace and challenge you when you are ready. I am happy to make accommodations as requested. I will ensure you have a safe space to process and complete the work that needs to be done to make therapy successful. Non-traditional beliefs, ideas, and experiences are welcomed to be explored without judgment or pressure to conform. In fact, some the most rewarding therapy sessions for my clients have been discussing unique philosophies that are contrary to popular opinion and culture. I pride myself in maintaining a strong work ethic, staying well organized, focused and applying strong self-care interventions. I work 4 jobs, 7 days a week, morning until night. I will do my absolute best to ensure our sessions begin and end on time. However, due to the nature of this career, there are occassions where I may be delayed with another person to evaluate for additional interventions (therapists are mandated reporters in Florida). Please keep this in mind when considering mental health services. If delays do occur, I apologize in advance. I will make sure you receive the best therapeutic services possible.

Are you a high-achieving woman who looks successful on the outside but feels stuck, overwhelmed, or unfulfilled inside? Do you find yourself procrastinating, doubting your abilities, or striving for perfection, only to fall short of your own expectations? If you’re tired of self-sabotaging patterns holding you back, you’re in the right place. I’m here to help you break free from these self-defeating patterns and together we’ll explore the underlying causes of your self-sabotage, uncover your inner strengths, and develop practical strategies to empower you to move forward with confidence and clarity. If you have a great career, stable housing, your bills are paid (on time), maybe even running a household with kids, and you look like, to others, you have it all together. Yet you find yourself stuck in the “perfectionism,” “people-pleasing,” or “procrastination” tendencies. You look around at all you “have” and feel like you “should” be happy. Yet, there is this persistent feeling of not feeling fulfilled. No matter what accomplishment you achieve, there is “always” another and even when you do reach that next bar, the “good feelings” are short-lived. If you’re tired of being stuck in these same old cycles, you’re in the right place.

Do you struggle with self-esteem, controlling your thoughts, organizing your life, managing your emotions and/or interpersonal relationships? Would you like to resolve some issues from your past and learn how to begin to enjoy the present as you also shape your future with intention and excitement? I will be here to guide you on your therapeutic journey and explore the 'menu' of approaches to choose from when we meet. It will be a safe place to talk, laugh and cry. Consider it a "choose your own adventure" approach with also a bit of structure. My therapeutic focus is finding a balance with one’s mind, body and spirit to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, trauma, physical manifestations and changes in moods which often stem from repressed thoughts and unprocessed emotions. Letting your words "hit the air" is profoundly powerful and the first step to change.... actually, second after deciding to work on yourself. :) My healing modalities are deeply rooted person-centered, talk-therapy approach incorporating traditional therapeutic methods and holistic practices such as breath-work, tapping and mindfulness. Reaching out can be intimidating, especially when scrolling through a list of strangers and trying to choose who you think might be a good fit to be open and vulnerable with. It is a big decision. Let's start with a 15 min consultation, if you'd prefer. You decide if we're a match. No pressure to commit. Consider it like trying on a great pair of shoes for your journey. :)

My name is Mary Vaughan and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the state of Florida. I have been in the mental health business for 35+ years. I love my work and that is the reason have stayed in it as long as I have. I am a military brat and I have moved around in Europe and many states. Before I begin to work with a client, I tell them some of my background. It is my opinion the client should know something about his/her counselor before we begin our work. I have had very successful results working with people who suffer from some kind of abuse ( either in childhood or as a young adult.) If abuse has occurred at most any age, the individual may come to me and tell me that they are experincing stress, depression, anxiety and/or panic attacks. Before beginning counseling, I inform the client that we will have a questioning and answer process. This allows the client and me to get to know each other a little better. Based on the information I gather about my client, we discuss what the client wants from their sessions. The individual and I work together as a team. In this process, the client gains a sense of self-esteem and a sense of control over their lives going forward in the future. Finding the right "fit" of counselor and client is key to a successful experience for the client. After the counselor gives the client some unique coping skills, the counselor asks the client if these skills might work for them. These coping skills are "Fluid" and can be modified and changed as we proceed in the counseling process.

Hi, I'm Jaci, and I am passionate about helping individuals overcome the challenges they face in relationships, personal fulfillment, and self-expression. I specialize in two main areas: working with adolescents who are struggling with ADHD, anxiety, and relationship challenges, and empowering strong, independent women who feel disconnected from their true selves. For adolescents, I understand how difficult it can be to manage ADHD and anxiety, especially when these struggles impact friendships, family dynamics, and daily life. I work with my clients to develop practical coping strategies, improve their self-esteem, and strengthen their relationships with those around them. Together, we explore the challenges they face and create individualized solutions that help them feel understood and capable. I also work with women who feel as though they are wearing a mask—either in their relationships or careers. These women often find themselves caught in patterns that don't align with who they truly are, feeling unfulfilled and stuck. I help these women navigate life transitions, identify their authentic selves, and build deeper, more meaningful relationships—starting with the one they have with themselves. My approach is grounded in building strong, trusting relationships. With years of experience working with adolescents in the criminal justice system, I've developed a deep understanding of how to build rapport and help people feel seen and heard. I believe in a strengths-based approach that empowers my clients to tap into their inherent resilience and potential. Reaching out for therapy can be intimidating, and I want to make this process as easy and comfortable as possible for you. If you're ready to explore your challenges and work toward a more fulfilling life, I’d love to connect with you.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Florida rather than a city like Tampa?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
