I help people reconnect with who they are beneath stress, trauma, and life transitions. Therapy with me focuses on resolving the experiences and patterns that block joy, clarity, and self-trust so you can move forward on your own terms. My goal is to help you build balance across mind, body, and nervous system while developing practical skills that support long-term change. I offer a unique experience of integrative, interactive, and holistic therapy style that blends modern psychology with mind–body approaches. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Adlerian principles, neuroscience, developmental psychology, Brainspotting, mindfulness, meditation, yoga philosophy, Ayurveda and wellness-based strategies. Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual — combining practical tools, emotional healing, and insight so that therapy is both grounded and transformative. With sensitivity, patience, we will work collaboratively to strengthen your resilience, process trauma and restore a sense of steadiness and joy.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is about creating safety, connection, and clarity. After introductions, I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you in and what you hope to change. You don’t need to have the right words — just start where you are. I listen with compassion and clinical insight so that by the end of our first meeting, you’ll have a clearer understanding of what’s happening and a few concrete steps you can begin using right away. Many clients leave the first session feeling relieved, understood, and more hopeful about their path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With over 33 years of clinical experience, I bring depth, efficiency, and perspective to the therapy process. I’m able to quickly understand patterns, connect emotional and neurological pieces, and offer practical strategies that create real movement. Clients often appreciate my balance of warmth and directness. I combine professional expertise with ancient wisdom practices, intuition, creativity, and education — helping people understand themselves, shift old narratives, and rediscover their capacity for growth and joy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work especially well with women, teens, and parents navigating life transitions. This includes midlife changes, motherhood, career shifts, marriage, divorce, trauma recovery, grief, relationship challenges, stress, burnout, retirement, recovery from trauma, family of relationship challenges, and questions of identity or purpose. I also support clients seeking wellness-focused therapy that integrates emotional healing, self-care, spirituality, and personal growth. My practice is a good fit for people who want both practical tools, resolution of root causes and deeper insight.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

As a Nationally Certified Brainspotting Practitioner, I am trained and experienced in this special method of helping people process trauma. Ongoing training assures that I am continuously learning from Nationally Certified Brainspotting Practitioners, including the founder, Dr. David Grand. Getting to the root cause of the symptoms of trauma, anxiety, fear and depression can help resolve the issue on a somatic level. This means that the trauma can be integrated and released through the body. In practice, I am a co-creator with clients. We work together to learn this special technique, to identify activating events. We then utilize the brainspotting techniques to move toward a reduction of uncomfortable symptoms, improved insights and awareness and resolution of core issues. Learning about mindfulness based exercises such as breathing, somatic movements and meditation strategies further support the Brainspotting work.

Gottman method

As an experienced Level 2 Gottman method practitioner, I help couples find ways to connect, solve challenges and resolve longterm patterns of behavior based on the science based research of John Gottman. Receiving training from Julie and John Gottman in person years ago changed the way I work with couples for the better.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

As an experienced therapist, I integrate mindfulness based practices into my work with clients. I go beyond traditional talk therapy by including education and coaching related to expertise in nutrition, lifestyle and wellness strategies so that clients may learn how to manage their own unique balance of mind, body and spirit. Utilizing ancient traditions of yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, qigong, energy work, sound healing and more, combined with modern day science and best counseling practices offers a transpersonal, integrative, holistic experience that is unique. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT500), a Certified Meditation Teacher, an Ayurvedic Yoga Practitioner, a Reiki Master Practitioner and a Certified Sound Healer.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a standard foundation for my counseling services. Examining the mind's thoughts allows us to restructure thinking that may be faulty, anxious or trauma induced to a more rational model. Specific behavioral and thinking strategies offered by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can be integrated well with other modalities for wellness, self care and recovery of mindfulness based principles. As a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I have been trained by many specialists, including the founder of Rational Emotive Therapy, Albert Ellis and the founder of Reality Therapy, ,Dr. William Glasser.
