LCSW, 6 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a compassionate clinician and believe in meeting my clients where they are. I received my master’s in clinical social work from the University of Central Florida and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am licensed to practice and offers services in Florida, South Carolina, and Kansas. I am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor®, a Health At Every Size® (HAES) Provider, and is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I provide a holistic approach within a non-judgmental environment, helping you set realistic goals and utilize coping skills. I also have extensively studied eating disorders and eating disorder treatment modalities, as well as years of experience working with a wide range of clients and populations, helping those with chronic illness, depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, and disordered eating.
In our first session, my focus will be on getting to know you and creating a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. We’ll spend time building rapport, exploring what brings you to therapy, and discussing your goals and hopes for the process. I’ll also ask some background questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and challenges. Together, we’ll begin shaping a plan for therapy that feels collaborative and tailored to your needs, while allowing you to move at a pace that feels right for you.
I try and help clients feel heard, understood, and supported while guiding them to break unhelpful patterns, build coping skills, and achieve meaningful change. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to each person’s needs.
My ideal clients are individuals who are navigating challenges with eating disorders, depression, or anxiety and are ready to begin making meaningful changes in their lives. I work best with clients who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, who may struggle with self-worth, or who feel overwhelmed by emotions and daily stressors. Together, we focus on building healthier coping skills, fostering self-compassion, and working toward a greater sense of balance, confidence, and overall well-being.
I utilize CBT to provide a structured, goal-oriented method that helps clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress.
I use skills training such as mindfulness, distress tolerance: managing crises without making things worse (e.g., grounding exercises, self-soothing), emotion regulation: identifying emotions and using tools to reduce vulnerability to extreme feelings, and Interpersonal Effectiveness: communicating needs, setting boundaries, and maintaining healthier relationships.
Establishing grounding tools, identify the negative cognitions, pair the statement(s) with bilateral stimulation to reinforce it, then continue to work to desinsitize.
ACT allows me to support clients in reducing suffering related to internal experiences while increasing engagement in meaningful life activities. It’s particularly effective for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic stress, or difficulties with self-criticism.
