About me

I am originally from Cuba and have been living in the United States since 2013. My own life transitions, leaving everything behind, facing uncertainty, and adapting to change, have shaped the way I understand conflict, resilience, and growth. These experiences allow me to connect deeply with clients who are navigating challenges of their own. I bring warmth, compassion, and a practical approach to therapy, creating a safe space where you can explore your struggles and begin moving toward healing and lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I’ll invite you to share your story at your own pace. Together, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been going through, and what you hope to change. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where we can begin to understand your needs and start mapping out a path forward, one step at a time, together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a therapist is that I bring both professional knowledge and real-life experience to my work. Having faced major life challenges myself, I understand what it means to feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or stuck. This allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level and offer genuine empathy while guiding them toward growth and healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals who are navigating life transitions, whether that means adjusting to a new stage of life, coping with grief, or facing the challenges of parenting and family dynamics. I also have a deep understanding of the unique struggles that come with emigration, including the uncertainty, loss, and adaptation that follow such a big change. Many of my clients seek support for depression, anxiety, or the stress that comes with balancing everyday responsibilities, and together we work toward building resilience, finding clarity, and creating meaningful change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help clients who are struggling with the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences. CPT is a proven approach that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thoughts that may keep you feeling stuck, such as guilt, blame, or fear. In our sessions, I provide a safe and supportive space where we work together to make sense of your experiences and learn new ways of thinking that can bring relief and healing. Through structured conversations, practical tools, and gentle guidance, CPT helps you build healthier perspectives, regain confidence, and move forward with a greater sense of peace and control in your life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT is a practical and effective approach that focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and replacing them with healthier, more balanced ways of looking at situations. In our sessions, I provide tools and strategies you can use in daily life to manage stress, improve mood, and feel more in control. Together, we’ll work on building skills that help you cope with challenges, change negative thought patterns, and create lasting improvements in your overall well-being.

Attachment-based

I use Attachment-Based Therapy to help clients explore how early relationships and life experiences may shape the way they connect with others today. This approach focuses on understanding patterns in relationships, building trust, and creating healthier ways of relating to yourself and those around you. In our sessions, I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where we can strengthen your sense of security and improve connections in your life. The goal is to help you develop more fulfilling relationships, increase self-awareness, and feel more confident in how you give and receive love and support.
