The LOVE Principle sums up my vocation in trauma work and therapy. L.o.v.e means 4 things: Listen Observe Validate Encourage That's my approach. I connect the dots as to why you feel the way you do and show you how to overcome it and move into freedom. This is backed by my extensive education, work with homeless, addicts and mental ill since 1994.
Expect to come away with a sense of control, hope and the tools you need to get through the next step of the process.
Some therapists have a very dry and clinical approach to therapy, I do not. My goal is to make you feel accepted and heard. I use a blend of my experience and clinical research to help ease your mental load and emotional responses. I do this everyday in my own life and with friends, clients and strangers who need a little help from heaven.
Willing, trusting and enthusiastic are all great qualities, but I promise I work to earn these ideals.
I have decades of counseling experience, and am well versed and educated in Biblical texts and how their misguided application leads to extremes in parenting, anxiety, and undiagnosed illness.
I began using EMDR in 2019 to help resolved emotions; states of being overwhelmed and hypervigilant. This tool helps prepare individuals for stressful situations like flying, court scenarios, grief etc.
Shame is a powerful tactic that trains our brain to take responsibility for things that adults should have mended within us.
