Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Texas. I received my Masters in 2015 from Walden University. I work with people who experience anxiety, depression, PTSD, and low self-esteem. I help people change they way they see & speak to themselves as well as over; I encourage empowerment and self-acceptance. The world can be a difficult place and we all need someone who will support us, cheer us on, and be in our corner.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions and rapport building; I want to know presenting concerns and challenges you face in your life. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider would be that I am sympathetic, understanding, and open-minded. I am person centered and eclectic so I treat every person as the unique individual they are. I have worked in residential treatment centers and psych hospitals so I am well versed in dealing with trauma and strong emotions. I will be your strongest cheerleader.

My treatment methods

Supportive

I believe that everyone deserves a safe, judgement free environment to speak without inhibition or fear. I have used supportive therapy for the past 8 years; I will help you through emotional support, encouragement, and validation while exploring difficult circumstances and psychological & emotional challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I started using CBT early on in my career when I was working with children and teens. While working with them, I began noticing how their negative self-talk was leading to their continued interpersonal struggles. I would watch them spiral & noticed that their negative self-talk and toxic, unhealthy thinking patterns were leading to unhealthy physical behaviors. In my work over the past 8 years, I use CBT to help clients identify, acknowledge, and challenge toxic thinking patterns & recurring thoughts that cause anxiety and a negative self-view. I also use CBT to help the client gain insight into how thinking patterns & recurring thoughts affect behavior as well as mood.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Over the past 8 years I have used DBT to help clients accept the reality of their lives, behaviors, and circumstance while learning to change unhelpful behaviors. DBT is used to help those who have difficulty managing and regulating their emotions. DBT encompasses learning distress tolerance, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Compassion Focused

I believe that our loudest critic is ourselves; we need to learn to give ourselves grace because we are all human. Over the past 8 years I have used compassion focused therapy to help teach clients to incorporate compassions training techniques to induce and increase kinder thinking habits & self-talk. Compassion training can help challenge problematic patterns of thinking and emotions related to anxiety, shame, self-criticism, and anger.

Eclectic

I believe that everyone is different & unique, as is my approach. Over the past 8 years I have implemented and embraced eclectic therapy because it allows me to pull from a variety of approaches and multiple sets of techniques to find the right interventions and techniques to meet the unique needs of each client.
