Hello! Welcome to my safe space. My name is Cierra and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for both Texas and New Mexico. I received my Masters degree from Western New Mexico University and Bachelors degree from Louisiana State University. I help children and adults struggling with historical and everyday stressors and assist them in achieving resilience and stability. I make all efforts to ensure clients feel safe in sessions, and encourage clients to take ownership of their therapeutic process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with me providing information about myself and then basic, light-hearted questions to learn about you. We can then proceed to identify your main goal for your time in therapy. This will help us create a personalized plan to guide our future sessions, and ensure we maintain focus on your goals!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with various populations over the years, I've developed greater tools and knowledge to help individuals and families to resiliency. I strive to assist clients with recognizing their strengths, reconciling meaningful relationships and developing a newfound view of themselves.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Are you having challenges with expressing your emotions, managing stress or maintaining relationships? I get it. These are all part of the human experience and you do not have to figure it out alone. With the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I assist clients with building skills to manage their emotions and stressors, develop healthy relationships and establish a sense of security within themselves. DBT focuses on 4 key components: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Emotional Regulation skills. Clients are able to utilize the worksheets and other activities that I implement to guide their progress. I encourage clients to practice these skills in the days between sessions, which I refer to as the “therapy outside of therapy”. Having experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy on both a personal and professional scale, I enjoy creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to work through their vulnerabilities.

Trauma Informed Care

Maintaining commitment to client’s safety and integrity in therapy sessions is essential to me. The Trauma Informed Care approach is applied by me in every session and every encounter with each client. Attending various trainings, conducting research on updated Trauma Informed Care strategies and encouraging client autonomy are avenues that allow me to maintain commitment to each client’s inwellbeing.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy approach, I assist clients in identifying their personal strengths and resources. This approach places emphasis on solutions rather than problems. I appreciate its effectiveness in helping clients identify and work towards their goals within a relatively short timeframe. I maintain a supportive and empowering environment where one feels heard and validated, allowing them to take active steps toward their goals.
