I’m April Nenjerama, a licensed counselor and the owner of Restore Family Counseling. I have 9 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship issues. My approach is compassionate and solution-focused, aiming to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your concerns and develop effective coping strategies. I believe in empowering my clients to heal, grow, and build stronger, healthier connections in all aspects of their lives. Together, we will work toward restoring balance and peace, focusing on practical solutions tailored to your unique needs.
In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming, non-judgmental, and safe environment where we’ll begin to build a collaborative relationship. Our first meeting is an opportunity for you to share your story, express your concerns, and talk about what brought you to therapy. I’ll listen attentively to your experiences and work to understand your unique situation. We’ll spend time discussing your goals for counseling—whether it’s to address specific mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, PTSD, or relationship issues, or simply to gain insight and support for personal growth. It’s important that you feel heard and validated from the start, so I’ll make sure to ask open-ended questions and offer reflections to ensure I’m understanding you clearly. During this session, I will also explain my approach to therapy and what you can expect from our work together. We’ll discuss the structure of our sessions, confidentiality, and any other logistics to ensure you’re comfortable and informed about the process. At the end of the session, we may begin to set goals for our work together, but there’s no pressure to figure everything out right away. You can expect to leave the session with a better understanding of how therapy can help, and we’ll plan next steps together based on what feels most relevant for you. Most importantly, my goal is for you to feel supported and confident in the therapeutic process moving forward.
I believe my greatest strengths as a provider stem from my deep empathy, experience, and commitment to creating a supportive, non-judgmental space for clients. Here are a few specific strengths that I bring to my work: 1. Empathy and Active Listening: I genuinely care about my clients and their well-being. I listen closely and attentively to what they say, ensuring that they feel heard, understood, and validated. This helps to build trust and create a safe environment where clients can open up and explore their challenges freely. 2. Experience and Expertise: With 9 years of counseling experience, I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship difficulties. This allows me to approach each situation with a broad understanding and the flexibility to tailor my approach to meet my clients’ unique needs. 3. Collaborative Approach: I believe in working together with clients to identify their goals and co-create solutions. Therapy is a partnership, and I see myself as a guide who helps clients tap into their inner strengths and resources while providing the support and tools they need to overcome challenges. 4. Compassionate and Holistic Care: I’m committed to helping clients heal not only from their immediate concerns but also to support their overall growth and well-being. I take a holistic approach, considering how different aspects of a client’s life—emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual—intersect and influence their healing process. 5. Adaptability: I recognize that every client is unique, so I tailor my therapeutic approach to suit individual needs. Whether using cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, or trauma-informed care, I am flexible in my methods to best meet each client where they are. 6. Commitment to Personal Growth: I continually seek to improve as a counselor, engaging in ongoing education and supervision. This helps me stay current with the latest research and therapeutic techniques, ensuring that my clients receive the best possible care. Overall, I believe my ability to combine compassion, experience, and a tailored, client-centered approach makes me an effective and trusted provider. My goal is always to empower clients to heal, grow, and find peace in their lives.

Christian Counseling
Christian counseling virtually or near Richmond, Rosenberg, Needville, or Sugar Land areas , I integrate faith-based principles with evidence-based therapeutic approaches, creating a holistic and compassionate environment for healing. I draw on Scripture, prayer, and spiritual guidance alongside methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to address emotional, relational, and mental health challenges. I believe that faith plays a key role in healing, and I encourage clients to explore how their spiritual beliefs intersect with their emotional well-being. For example, in CBT, we might explore how thoughts and beliefs align with Biblical truths, helping clients replace negative, unhelpful thinking with thoughts rooted in God’s Word. In EFT, I support couples in creating a foundation of love and trust, drawing from the Christian understanding of selflessness, forgiveness, and grace. I also provide space for prayer and spiritual reflection as part of the healing process, acknowledging that God’s presence can bring comfort, clarity, and strength during times of struggle. My goal is to help clients find peace, healing, and growth in their relationships with both God and others, fostering resilience through faith while addressing the practical aspects of mental health. This integration of Christian beliefs with therapy offers a unique and personalized approach to healing, empowering clients to overcome challenges with both spiritual and emotional support. I believe God is a God of restoration and reconciliation. That is where my practice name comes from Restore Family Counseling is the name God gave me to reflect His heart of restoring marriages and families for His kingdom.
