First session
My first session with you will be to view what you need and also what your goals (what you would like to get out of therapy). We will also speak about confidentiality, fees, paperwork and any other questions that you may have just to make sure that everything is out in the open. If you agree that I am a good fit for you, then we can proceed to our next session.
Strengths
I feel that my greatest strengths as a therapist are as follows: empathy, communication, and listening.
Ideal clients
Would love to work with you to help you through issues such as: school, career, trauma, anxiety, military issues (PTSD, complex PTSD), special needs, farming community and suicidal ideation. I am specialized in complex trauma, post traumatic stress disorder, working with farming community (Farm Response and AgriSafe certified) as my specialties and am always trying to learn more to further help you!
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), I allow patients to reflect on the choices that have been done and what other choices that could have been made. Then from those choices, what the outcome could have been and let the patient decide which outcome would have been better.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Using Trauma Informed Care, understanding the background of the patient to understand why he/she is making the present choices. Once the understanding happens, then the patient can begin to move forward.
Gestalt
The empty chair technique is used in Gestalt therapy to address unresolved issues, conflicts, and emotions.
