I remember the first time I decided to seek therapy. I remember the mixed emotions of anxiety, fear, being overwhelmed, not knowing what to look for, or where to start. It can be especially difficult if you are BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+. You can rest assured that all of those feelings are valid and normal. Don’t let fear prevent you from reaching out for help with the issues you are experiencing. You are worthy of healing and happiness! I am here to hold space for you and offer a supportive, safe, non-judgmental environment. You do not have to go through this alone.
We all possess the directions to our healing journey but through trauma and negative experiences, we have lost our connection to the map. My role is not to give advice or solve your problems, but to help you unearth the solutions that are lying dormant within you.
My specialties are anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem, racism/BIPOC issues, relationship issues, codependency and similar areas. However, I do not limit myself to these areas and am more than willing to talk with you about other areas you would like to address to see if I can assist in your healing journey.
I believe in the power of being culturally and ethnically competent when engaging with clients. This improves not only the clinician/client relationship, but also provides a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves.
Humanistic psychology is a perspective that emphasizes looking at the whole individual and strives to help people fulfill their potential and maximize their well-being.
CBT is an evidenced based approach to depression and anxiety that I combine with other more experiential approaches.
CFT is beneficial to those experiencing destructive thoughts, depression, or anxiety to combat feelings of shame and self-criticism.
