(she/her)
I am a licensed clinical mental health therapist (LMHC) located in south Florida. Whether this is your first time exploring the options for a therapy or you are seeking to return to the "therapy couch" to work on something different, know I'm proud of you for taking that step! I recognize that participating in therapy can be a struggle all within itself due to beliefs and preconceived notions. My goal is to meet you where you are and walk beside you with compassion and empathy to achieve your goals. As a therapist, I have worked in a range of areas, including outpatient substance abuse treatment, with individuals involved in intimate partner violence (survivors and perpetrators), in addition to education-based interventions for anger management & substance use. Additionally if you decide you would like to meet with me, feel free to reach out if a time slot you would need is not available. I am more than willing to accommodate with advance notice on days/times you may need.
Aside from the fun introductions, I like to get to know you and what your vision for our time together will look like, including the logistics such as how often you want to meet and scheduling. Knowing what you are looking for helps us to determine if we are a good fit and formulate a realistic plan.
Therapeutic approaches that I lean into tend to be self-compassion based approaches, in addition to recognizing the importance of address concerns immediately. Additionally, I enjoy using methods such as Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy & Narrative Therapy to explore alternative perspectives of how the internal world of our mind shapes how we see the world around us.
I enjoy working with a range of individuals. When clients are motivated to improve and continue to do the work outside of the session, the sky is truly the limit! My goal is to support you as we build a therapeutic relationship. That being said, I also trust in that relationship to confront and provide feedback & accountability in our sessions to continue to work toward your goals. Therapy is a rewarding process, so I am also open to having an open line of communication on how your goals may evolve over the course of our time together.
I utilize person-centered, in addition to other methods, as it focuses on empathetically providing clients with a safe space to talk and process life, focused on self-actualization and making authentic changes in life.
