Dahana Emile
Life presents many challenges, from navigating major life transitions to resolving relationship conflicts or coping with anxiety and/or trauma. At Peculiar Minds Counseling, my goal is to guide you through these difficulties and help you find meaningful solutions.
I incorporate a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Faith-based, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance Therapy, and Reality Therapy.
I offer a safe space where you can freely express your thoughts and feelings and collaboratively, we will work towards solutions that foster growth and healing. It is my hope that throughout our work together, you will feel encouraged, find peace, and embrace your moment of restoration.
First session
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions, I’ll then provide an in the moment support as you would discuss specific challenges you're facing. This will help me to build rapport and create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Strengths
I help individuals gain insight and understand their whys in life. Oftentimes, our identity and how we view the world can be misconstrued from harmful core beliefs. I can work together with you in educating and seeking clarification on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while receiving compassion and empathy.
Ideal clients
I bring a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges that anxiety presents in people's lives. I work with my clients to explore the roots of their anxiety, whether it's related to past experiences, work, relationships, current stressors, or negative thought patterns. By using evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients challenge unhelpful beliefs, develop coping strategies, and reframe their thinking.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help my clients identify the schemas and automatic thoughts that mediate anxiety responses.
