I am a Licensed Independ Social worker with many years of experience providing psychotherapy. I have helped many clients over the years overcome struggles from depression, anxiety to past trauma. After years of experience I strongly believe that progress and change comes from getting to know ourselves. I help clients getting to know themself and recognize what they have control over to make the changes they desire in their lives.
n our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then it will be about getting to know you, getting to know what is going on in your life so that I can have a good understanding of your struggles. Then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with people for many years I have develop a good understanding of stressors and conflicts in peoples lives. I am very open minded and easy to talk to. My years of experience provides me with lots of tools to be able to work with a variety of struggles. I've developed a tried-and-true process for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I love working with clients who are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about where they are going with their lives.
The way we think affect the way we feel. If we start paying attention to our thinking process, we can make long lasting changes that affect our functioning and happiness. CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle. CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.
DBT focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors.
In order to be able to improve our functioning, we need to be aware of our thoughts and feeling which can be identified by being mindful and aware so that change can occur.
We cannot change the past but we can look at the way we have coped in a positive way in the past using our strengths in a helpful way.
