Hello, I'm Andrea Ruta, a dedicated mental health professional passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward well-being and personal growth. I specialize in working with neurodiverse clients, including those with ADHD and autism, providing tailored strategies that honor each person's unique strengths and needs. In addition to my work with neurodiverse individuals, I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, and self-care challenges, as well as those experiencing life transitions and personal growth opportunities. My approach integrates evidence-based practices with mindfulness, nature-based techniques, and spiritual exploration, fostering a holistic healing process that considers the mind, body, and spirit. Whether you're looking to build stronger boundaries, enhance communication skills, or create a more balanced and fulfilling life, I am here to guide and support you. Together, we'll cultivate the tools and insights needed to navigate life's challenges and foster meaningful growth. My compassionate, client-centered philosophy ensures that each session is tailored to your unique needs. I believe in the power of collaboration and will work alongside you to develop strategies aligned with your goals and values, helping you build the life you envision.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust and understanding. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, any specific goals or challenges you'd like to address, and explore your personal history to gain a deeper understanding of your unique experiences. This is a collaborative space—you set the pace, and we'll work together to identify what feels most important to focus on. You can expect a warm, welcoming environment where you are encouraged to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. My role is to listen, provide support, and help guide you through the process, ensuring you feel safe and respected every step of the way.
As a mental health therapist, I am skilled at building meaningful connections with my clients, providing a safe and welcoming space where they feel at ease sharing their thoughts and emotions. With a deep sense of empathy, I actively listen to their experiences while gently encouraging growth through thoughtful challenges. My aim is to cultivate an environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered as they navigate their healing journey and pursue personal growth.
I am best suited to serve clients who are seeking compassionate, individualized support on their mental health journey. I have extensive experience supporting neurodiverse individuals, such as those with ADHD or autism, by providing tailored strategies that honor their unique strengths and needs. I work well with clients who are open to integrating mindfulness, nature-based practices, and spiritual exploration into their healing process, embracing a holistic approach that considers the mind, body, and spirit.
I studied Motivational Interviewing extensively in my masters program and have used it to assist me in working with young people who are diagnosed with ADHD and other neurodiverse diagnosis to help them reach their goals. I have also used it effectively for substance abuse counseling.
I find that using psycho-education in my method treatment is helpful in assisting my clients in understanding their condition which then helps us work as a team in finding a solution.
I have used this in helping my clients recover and improve their lives when they are facing life challenges. We work through negative thought patterns and use reframing to help clients find a better perspective.
I have experience working with a diverse population of young adults, culturally diverse, neurodiverse and from a variety of religious backgrounds. I embrace learning about my clients cultures and will educate myself to provide the best cultural competency I can.
I use an approach that is based on the needs and preferences of my clients. If requested, I have experience and competency counseling with a Christian perspective in mind using a faith based approach.
