About me

At the heart of my practice is human connection. I want therapy to feel like a genuine conversation with someone who gets it—not like you’re sitting across from a clinical research paper. I love to laugh with my clients, talk about the real stuff, and create a space where you never have to worry about being judged or saying the “wrong” thing. I’m a human being, too, and I believe that sharing parts of myself when it’s helpful can make therapy feel more comfortable, relatable, and real. My hope is that you feel safe enough to be completely yourself with me. Maybe you’ll cry. Maybe we’ll laugh. Maybe you’ll have an “aha” moment, or maybe you’ll simply leave feeling like you finally got something off your chest. I want therapy to be something you actually look forward to—not another obligation on your calendar. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling a little lighter, a little more understood, and a little more hopeful about yourself and your future. Therapy is self-care, but it’s also connection. And sometimes, you just need a real person sitting across from you saying, “Yeah…that’s really hard. Let’s figure this out together.”

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we will work on building rapport and introducing ourselves. We will then identify the areas that you would like to focus on and develop short and long term goals to help us address these items.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the biggest strengths I bring to therapy is genuine curiosity. I’m not interested in putting people into boxes or assuming I already know why they think, feel, or behave the way they do. I want to understand you—your experiences, your perspective, and what makes you function the way you do. I’m open-minded, non-judgmental, and not afraid to ask the follow-up questions that help us get to the heart of what’s really going on. I want my clients to feel comfortable being honest with me, even when the answer isn’t pretty, easy, or what they think I want to hear. I also believe therapy should be collaborative. I’m not there to tell you how to live your life or hand you a list of things you “should” be doing. I’m there to help you understand yourself, identify what may be getting in your way, and figure out what actually works for you. What makes my approach unique is that I bring both professional experience and genuine human curiosity into the room. I’m not afraid to laugh, ask questions, challenge you when needed, or have the real conversations. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported—and where you can become the best version of yourself without feeling like you have to become someone else.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT in my sessions to help my clients learn and practice techniques such as relaxation, coping, resilience, stress management and assertiveness. We will work together to utilize thought challenging skills and cognitive restructuring in order to decrease negative thinking.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness techniques to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without immediately reacting to them. Together, we practice staying present in the moment, which can reduce anxiety, improve emotional regulation, and increase self-awareness. This approach helps clients respond to life's challenges with greater intention, self-compassion, and resilience.

Narrative

I use narrative therapy to help clients explore the stories they tell themselves about their lives and identify patterns that may no longer serve them. Together, we separate the person from the problem, uncover strengths, and challenge limiting beliefs shaped by past experiences. This approach empowers clients to rewrite their story in a way that reflects their values, resilience, and hopes for the future.

Feminist

I use a feminist therapy lens to recognize how relationships, culture, and societal expectations can influence emotional well-being and self-esteem. Together, we explore patterns of power, identity, and lived experiences while honoring each client's unique background and values. This approach encourages empowerment, healthy boundaries, self-advocacy, and creating a life that aligns with what matters most to you.

Humanistic

I believe that every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. My role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, values, and goals. By building on each client's unique strengths, we work together to foster confidence, authenticity, and lasting personal growth.

Having never tried therapy before, I wasn't too sure what to expect but Margaret was absolutely amazing. Incredibly easy to talk to and I feel a little lighter after. I look forward to booking more sessions with her.
