I am an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) with experience in working with adults and children from in-patient as well as out-patient settings. I have worked with teenagers and young children for over 10 years. I specialize in working with children with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I have a heart for working with kids and teens with traumatic experiences. My passion began while I was still in high school and wanted to be a teacher. I worked in various daycare facilities as well as having my own in-home daycare and decided I wanted to help kids (and adults) in a more in-depth manner. That is when I began my journey into social work and found my true calling in life. I have experience working with children and adolescents who have been through, or are currently in, the child welfare system as well as working with older teens with substance abuse/misuse issues.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be mostly rapport building and getting to know each other better. I will ask a lot of questions and hope clients come with questions of their own.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a heart for working with kids who have experienced trauma. Kids often times do not know how to express or talk about all of the trauma they have lived through, so I use a mixture of activities to help them through it. TF-CBT allows children to work through the yucky stuff by doing fun things to help them cope.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I work primarily with teens and young adults who have experienced trauma. This modality allows them to process through the trauma and understand why they react in the manner they do.
