I'm a dedicated professional with over 13 years of experience in the behavioral health field. My goal is to empower individuals to embrace their authentic selves and find comfort in their daily lives. I insist on personalizing my interventions to suit each individual's needs. I work mostly with young adults and adults (ages 18+). I believe that most of us would benefit from therapy at most points throughout our lives. We are social beings by nature and are simply not meant to struggle alone. We are our own worst critics so it takes an outside perspective of a loved one or a professional to help us recognize the strength amid chaos.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session can be scary but it is always very important as a foundation to our journey. I like to make sure any questions are answered after completing intake paperwork. I also share a little about myself as a professional, my background, passion, etc. Set a tone for what can be expected in this professional relationship, since every therapist has a different presentation to offer. The first session also includes the biopsychosocial assessment, a necessary tool for really getting a feel for the client as a human being who has experienced struggles along the way to the present.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is my empathy and compassion. I have naturally always felt more compelled to see others succeed, find happiness, experience emotional "Aha!" moments.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in substance use disorders, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, and co-occurring disorders. My focus is to adopt a person-centered and trauma-informed approach (including EMDR therapy), so that I can prioritize your work toward comfort and well-being.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I am trained in EMDR therapy and have used this therapy approach for about a year.

Motivational Interviewing

I weave motivational interviewing into all of my therapeutic approaches. This is important in meeting the client where they are at that time.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I view and treat the whole person, not just the symptomology.
