Is anxiety or depression keeping you from living the life you want? Are you struggling in your relationships? Would you like to communicate more effectively? Do you isolate or avoid situations because of low self-esteem or lack of self-confidence? Is a self-sabotaging behavior interfering with your well-being or relationships? You and I can work together to bring about change: you can overcome anxiety and depression. You can break out of the cycle of self-sabotaging or addictive behaviors. Life can be better and relationships more fulfilling. With support and guidance, you can build the life you want. I have extensive experience in the fields of mental health and addictions, working with individuals seeking change and the loved ones who want to support them.
In our first session, we'll discuss what's getting in the way of your happiness, your well-being and your relationships and what you want to be different in your life. We'll discuss the different approaches I use in therapy and start to explore what might work best for you.
All too often people engage in unproductive or even self-sabotaging behaviors. They allow themselves to be limited by fear and anxiety, or they're stuck in an addiction that's interfering with their happiness, well-being and relationships. I help you understand what keeps you trapped in anxiety or addiction and teach you the skills to achieve lasting change.
Clients who know that something isn't working in their lives but struggle to identify exactly what that is and are prepared to feel uncomfortable with the process of therapy, which can be like irrigating a wound: it can be painful, but it's necessary in order to achieve full healing.
I have been trained in IFS and use it regularly. I find it an incredibly gentle and powerful way to help clients move toward the change they seek.
I have had extensive training in TEAM CBT, a specialized and extremely effective method to help people change the way they think in order to change the way they're feeling emotionally.
Mindfulness practice is central to my work. Through mindfulness, clients increase their awareness of and tolerance for the physical discomfort that accompanies difficult emotions, discomfort that often leads to self sabotaging behaviors. As the tolerance increases, the self-sabotaging behaviors decrease.

Talking with Jane, you get the feeling that she truly cares for her patients and wants to see them improve, without being afraid to give it to you straight.

She empowers me by providing me with something to contemplate. She’s intelligent and compassionate, though her approach is warm yet direct. She genuinely wants to assist me and comprehend my situation, seeking to understand the most effective way to help me.
