(he/him)
Welcome! My name is Jesus, I am a multi-state Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 5 years of experience working with adults. If you are struggling to cope with the challenges that are life, I am here to help you. I strongly believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all model, and because of this, I take a collaborative approach to meet my clients where they are to help get them where they want to be. My motto in life is, life is about making positive movements forward.
At our first session, you can expect us to have an open conversation about what you are looking for in a therapist to ensure that we are in alignment, because as I mentioned earlier, therapy is not a one-size-fits-all. You and I will begin to lay the groundwork for what will be our therapeutic relationship, we will discuss your past, present and the goals you have for the future. We will close out the session by discussing session expectations and schedule our ongoing sessions. During your ongoing sessions you and I will work towards the goals that we worked to establish during that initial appointment. You will find that in ongoing sessions we develop various skills and process experiences to help you make positive strides. I will work to create a safe space for you to explore parts of yourself that you may have not done before. I will work to build a string trusting relationship so that when we have to discuss hard topics, you trust that I will push you when needed and support you when needed.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to meet my clients where they are. I guide my clients on the paths they want to be on, and will check in consistently to ensure that you are getting what you want out of therapy. I also pride myself on being open with my clients, I draw and share from my personal experiences when appropriate to help clients feel less alone because dealing with mental health issues can feel isolating.
Throughout my clinical career, I have found a love for working with clients that are a part of marginalized communities (i.e POC, LGBTQ+, First Generation), as well as individuals who have experienced or are experiencing generational trauma, individuals who have survived abuse (physical, emotional/mental, and sexual), and individuals going through various life transitions. In short the ideal client is someone who wants to be open and do the work therapy requires.
