I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in correctional and mental health nursing as an RN. I began my nursing career as a Nurse Aid in 2003 in Michigan. I am passionate and dedicated to serving those with mental health needs and reducing the stigma associated with mental health, as mental health affects us all either directly or indirectly.
During our first session, I will obtain a thorough mental and physical health history including past and current treatments along with pertinent family hx. We will discuss past trials on various medications and how they have impacted your life. Together, we will develope an appropriate treatment plan that includes medications, therapy and/or referrals to substance abuse programs if indicated.
My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to build a therapeutic and comforting rapport with patients that encompasses trust.
I enjoy working with adolescent and adults who may be reluctant to reach out for support for their mental health needs. I will provide you with empowerment, support and advocacy to help you better understand how our brains work, affect our emotions and ultimately, drive our behaviors.
I serve clients by utilizing medication management, education and supportive therapy to reduce and stabilize symptoms associated with Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, and Psychosis.
