I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor here in North Carolina. I have been counseling for 14 years and have worked with clients with many different life concerns including substance abuse, anxiety, depression, ADD, trauma, relationship issues , family conflicts and life changes just to name a few. I am a firm believer that the client is in the “driver’s seat” when it comes to their therapy. I approach every client with unconditional positive regard and my office/video screen is ALWAYS a judgement free zone. I would almost be willing to bet you a quarter that you can’t shock me. I encourage you to take a leap of faith and get the help you are seeking. Life changes are achievable when individual ideas collide with positive actions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session we will begin the process of getting to know each other. It is always my desire at our first meeting to find out where a new client is in their life, talk about where they want to go with their life, and work together to develop a road map to enable them to get there. That is normally the direction I try to lead our first session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a very eclectic counseling style. I have a unique ability to adapt my style/approach to meet the individual needs of each client. I am well versed in cognitive-behavioral, person centered, and reality therapy. I have worked with a very diverse population of clients in the past and ALL are welcome. I believe therapists are only wounded survivors with education and training, who seek to help their fellow man/women to face life's difficulties.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been around for many decades. I have been using it in my counseling practices for over 14 years. We will use CBT to recognize disrupting negative/automatic thoughts and replacing them with helpful ones. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is all about giving you concrete tools to navigate your emotions, control your thinking, and thus eliminate unwanted behaviors……

Eclectic

Eclectic therapy is a form of psychotherapy that adapts to the unique needs of each patient, depending on the problem, the treatment goals, and the person’s expectations and motivation. By utilizing an eclectic counseling style I am able to draw from a variety of disciplines and may use a range of proven methods to determine the best combination of therapeutic tools to help a patient. I work to customizes the therapeutic process for each individual by using whatever form of treatment, or combination of treatments/modalities, has been shown to be most effective for a particular problem.
