LCMHC, 15 years of experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I have been counseling for 15 years and have worked with clients with many different life concerns including substance abuse, anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, trauma, relationship issues, family conflicts and life changes just to name a few. I am a firm believer in a client centered approach. The client is in the “driver’s seat” when it comes to their therapy. I approach every client with unconditional positive regard and my office/video screen is ALWAYS a judgement free zone. I am passionate about helping my clients seek to find balance and empowering them to take the necessary steps to reach their goals. I encourage you to take a leap of faith and get the help you are seeking. Life changes are achievable when individual ideas collide with positive actions.
During our first session we will begin the process of getting to know each other to build therapeutic rapport. It is always my desire at our first meeting to find out where a new client is in their life, talk about where they want to go with their life, and work together to develop a road map to enable them to get there. That is normally the direction I try to lead our first session.
I hold unconditional positive regard for my clients and a deep empathy for their experiences. I’m very rarely shocked by what is brought up in session, and I cherish the connection developed between therapist and patient. I’ll keep it real with you as compassionately and directly as I can. This authentic approach is the catalyst for change, which I am proud to offer my clients.
I am able to work with just about anyone who is ready to make positive changes for lasting improvement.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been around for many decades. I have been using it in my counseling practices for over 15 years. We will use CBT to recognize disrupting negative/automatic thoughts and replacing them with helpful ones. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is all about giving you concrete tools to navigate your emotions, control your thinking, and thus eliminate unwanted behaviors……
Eclectic therapy is a form of psychotherapy that adapts to the unique needs of each patient, depending on the problem, the treatment goals, and the person’s expectations and motivation. By utilizing an eclectic counseling style I am able to draw from a variety of disciplines and may use a range of proven methods to determine the best combination of therapeutic tools to help a patient. I work to customizes the therapeutic process for each individual by using whatever form of treatment, or combination of treatments/modalities, has been shown to be most effective for a particular problem.

Greg is down to earth and creates a safe space to talk through situations, sometimes offering multiple solutions to problems and helps me understand the behaviors that I need to manage. I have learned a lot about myself, confirmed things I already knew and help me get on the right path in dealing with challenging situations.

I’ve been to therapy a few different times and I really enjoy being able to vent or just to talk to Greg. The sessions feel as if I’m talking to my uncle which is very comfortable for me. Being open minded with care is a huge plus.
