I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and in case you’re unsure of what that is, it means I have earned a Bachelor Degree in Social Work a Master of Social Work and once I completed Graduate school I was then required to complete 3,000 hours of clinical work experience under supervision for another two years after those supervised clinical hours I had to successfully sit for ASWB Clinial Level exam. Being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker not only means that I am passionate about Mental Health, but I am also focused on your environment, meaning I look at external factors that impact your situation. When I started Graduate School, I went in with the notion of studying Psychology until I came across the Social Work Program, after doing some extensive research into the profession, I decided that is what I wanted to do. I learned I can help individuals with their Mental Health as well as take a holistic approach to address any barriers they may face while working towards their goals. I absolutely LOVE being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and helping individuals reach goals they’ve set for themselves.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session we will be getting to know each other. I’ll ask a lot of questions about life, past diagnosis, your goals for therapy, issues that may be negatively impacting your daily life. In addition to getting to know you, I’ll also share the services I provide to ensure that they are in sync with your journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Hearing is passive, It's simply the physical act of perceiving sound so when people hear you they are just detecting when you are speaking. I listen with intention, I am fully focusing on you, understanding, and processing what you are saying verbally and non-verbally.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

It’s not what’s wrong with you, it’s what happened to you. Therapy isn’t cookie-cutter, so together we will create an intervention designed to foster healing and wellness. Together we will take the journey to healing with approaches like CBT Exposure Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I work with adults of all ages who are ready to take the journey to healing. I work hard to ensure that the therapy space is comfortable, confidential, and free from judgment without those things it will make the healing process difficult. I will help you reach your therapeutic goals by taking a SMART approach, together we will ensure that the goals YOU create are specific as well as measurable so we can track the progress you are making, the goal will be realistic and achievable, relevant and in perfect timing with your healing journey. My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is an adaptable, evidence-based approach I use in my practice for treating a myriad of mental health issues. I have found CBT to be effective because it focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns. CBT has helped my clients recognize and reframe cognitive distortions in anxiety disorders. For disorders like PTSD, it assists in reprocessing traumatic memories, reducing avoidance, and challenging unhelpful beliefs.

Narrative

In my practice I use Narrative Therapy to empower clients with mental health disorders by helping them separate from their problems and rewrite limiting life stories. People interpret their lives through narratives, which can shape their self-perception and struggles. When experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, or other challenges, individuals may internalize negative stories, reinforcing hopelessness or low self-worth. Through narrative therapy, clients externalize problems, reducing self-blame and creating emotional distance. Narrative therapy is effective in treating disorders like PTSD, eating disorders, and addiction, allowing individuals to reclaim control, challenge stigmatizing beliefs, and reconnect with meaning and purpose. It’s especially suitable for culturally sensitive or identity-focused work, respecting the individual’s voice and social context. Ultimately, narrative therapy has helped my clients shift from being defined by their problems to becoming authors of their empowering narratives.
