Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based in North Carolina. I received my Masters from the Gardner-Webb University and have been practicing for 9 years. I help young adults and children struggling with career/school stress as well as feeling stuck in a life. All the pressures we have today lead to melancholy and burnout. Lets work together to help you become the best versions of yourself so you can feel peace and contentment.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then work together with a nonjudgmental relaxed vibe to understand the specific challenges you're facing. I will want to understand how you live today, when you were younger (if you are comfortable) and where you want to go. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Identifying the thoughts that precede behaviors is pertinent to helping facilitate behavioral change. Once identified we can begin the process of challenging the thought and replace with healthy thought we are able to change our actions/behaviors.
DBT allows us to identify the emotion that preceded our thoughts. We can then process the root of the emotion to understand its origin and effectiveness. Our emotions drive our thoughts. By understanding and identifying actual emotion we can then have better change at having a healthy thought pattern. Healthy thoughts lead to healthy action/behavioral outcomes.
Motivational Interviewing insures a client is being completely and correctly heard by utilizing reflection of feelings and reflection of thoughts. There is nothing more powerful to and individual than being thoroughly heard and validated. It is a powerful tool of change to hear your emotions and thoughts reflected back so you can organize and challenge your own thinking patterns and strategies.
