“Everyone is going through something and that shapes who they are.” I take the time to understand the client through compassion. I earned a Master of Education Degree in School Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I have over 20 years of experience in education as a teacher, school counselor, director of counseling and post-secondary readiness. My extensive knowledge and experience in Pk-12 counseling have shaped my approach to clients. Remember that therapy is a collaborative process, and your active engagement and commitment play a significant role in their progress. It's also important to note that therapy's timeline varies for each individual; some people might experience significant changes relatively quickly, while others might require longer-term support. The therapeutic journey is a personal one, and I work with my clients to create a tailored approach that suits their needs and goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After the first session, you can expect a mix of feelings and experiences. Everyone's therapy journey is unique as you will process emotions and collaboratively set goals for therapy. In the following sessions, we will continue by building your skills and may delve into past experiences to understand the roots of certain thoughts and behaviors. After working together for a while, you might notice an overall shift in your well-being.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

In counseling, I use a holistic perspective, providing a unique and effective treatment individualized for the client. My preferred therapy models include cognitive-behavioral, choice theory, client-centered, and solution-focused. Mindfulness is also a key tool I use in my sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I assist clients who are experiencing anger, anxiety, grief, depression, career, college transitions, and professional concerns.
