New to Grow
Hello! I’m Tami Quintana, a dual-licensed therapist (LPC, LMHC) with specialized certifications in addiction recovery (LCDC-I) and advanced anger management (CAMS-II). My practice is a holistic sanctuary designed for individuals at a crossroads—specifically women navigating the complexities of divorce and young adults facing life’s 'big' transitions. I believe that healing isn't just about 'fixing' a problem; it’s about honoring your whole self—mind, body, and spirit. My background is deep and diverse: I have years of experience walking alongside clients through intense challenges like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and autism, as well as those struggling with emotional disturbances, low self-esteem, or anger. Because of this, I offer a grounded, non-judgmental space where no emotion is 'too much' and no situation is too complex. I tailor my counseling for ages 8 to 55, using a blend of CBT, Solution-Focused, and Reality Therapy. We won’t just talk about the past; we will honor your entire experience to build a practical, empowering plan for your future. Whether you are seeking clarity in a transition or stability in a crisis, I am here to help you find your way back to balance.
In our first session, my goal is to provide a soft landing and a low-pressure environment where you feel truly heard. As a holistic practitioner, I look beyond a diagnosis to understand the "whole you." We will explore how your mind, body, and lifestyle are currently intersecting, especially if you are navigating the heavy transitions of divorce or life changes. While we honor your history, we will also use Solution-Focused and Reality Therapy to identify what you want your life to look like moving forward. You don’t need to have all the answers; we will work together to pinpoint the areas where you want to regain control. By the end of our 50 minutes, we’ll have the beginnings of a "map"—a practical, empowering plan rooted in CBT that gives you clarity on our next steps. Whether you are dealing with complex clinical needs, anger, or low self-esteem, you can expect a non-judgmental space where you no longer have to carry the weight alone. We move at your pace, starting exactly where you are today.
My greatest strength is my ability to stay grounded in the face of life’s most complex storms. I offer a unique blend of high-level clinical authority and deep, holistic empathy, ensuring you feel safe and understood regardless of your struggle. Having worked with severe mental health challenges like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, I provide a "steady anchor" for those who feel their emotions are "too much." I don’t just offer talk therapy; I am a practical "map-maker." Using my background as a CAMS-II and LCDC-I, I help you translate abstract pain into concrete actions, moving you from a place of feeling stuck to a position of agency. Whether I am working with a child of 8 or an adult of 55, my strength lies in my adaptive communication—I meet you exactly where you are developmentally and emotionally. I see the "whole you," connecting the dots between your environment and your well-being to help you reclaim your power and find your way back to balance.
I specialize in working with individuals at a crossroads—specifically women navigating the complexities of divorce and young adults struggling with life’s 'big' transitions. I understand that these moments can feel heavy, impacting your sleep, your confidence, and your sense of self. My practice is a holistic sanctuary designed for the person who feels stuck in a cycle of 'what-ifs' and is ready to feel whole again. Using a blend of CBT, Solution-Focused, and Reality Therapy, we don't just talk about the past; we honor your entire experience—mind and body—to build a practical, empowering path toward 'what’s next.' My goal is to help you find balance and clarity as you move into your next chapter.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I believe that pain is a natural part of being human, but suffering doesn't have to be. Using ACT, I help clients create a rich and meaningful life by accepting what is out of their control and committing to the changes that improve their well-being. We’ll focus on being present and staying true to yourself.
Adlerian
I use an Adlerian lens to help you understand the 'why' behind your actions. We’ll focus on your personal strengths and social interest, working collaboratively to overcome obstacles that prevent you from feeling like you belong. I see therapy as a process of encouragement, helping you take courageous steps toward a more fulfilling life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I see CBT as a way to gently untangle the knots of our inner dialogue. We all have those loud, self-critical thoughts that feel like absolute facts, but they don’t have to run the show. My experience with CBT has shown me that when we slow down and look at these patterns together, we can replace 'I can't' with 'I’m learning how.' I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where we can challenge the thoughts that keep you stuck, helping you move through the world with a bit more lightness and a lot more confidence.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Sometimes we get so focused on the 'why' of our problems that we lose sight of the incredible resilience we already possess. I use SFBT because I believe you are the expert on your own life—even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. My approach is deeply encouraging and future-oriented; we won't just sit in the pain of the past, but instead, we’ll identify the small, manageable wins that lead to big changes. I’m here to help you rediscover your 'exceptions'—those moments when things went right—and build a bridge toward the life you want to be living.
Reality Therapy
Life can often feel like it’s happening to us, leaving us feeling powerless or disconnected. My experience with Reality Therapy is rooted in the belief that we feel our best when our needs for connection, freedom, and fun are being met. In our sessions, I offer a grounded, supportive environment where we look honestly at the present. We’ll focus on what is within your control today. It’s not about judging the past; it’s about empowering you to make choices right now that align with your true self, helping you feel more 'in the driver's seat' of your own happiness.
