My name is Charity Midy. I am a graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington where I earned a Master of Social Work Degree. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in the state of Texas . I help adults handle stressful life events, negative self-talk, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression by providing a safe, nonjudgmental space to heal.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's completely normal to feel nervous, unsure, or even a little overwhelmed. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can show up just as you are. During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other. I'll ask questions about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We'll also discuss your personal history, relationships, strengths, and any previous experiences you've had with therapy. This initial session is not about having all the answers or sharing everything at once. You are welcome to move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My role is to listen, understand your unique experiences, and begin identifying ways I can support you in reaching your goals. Together, we'll start building a plan that fits your needs. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, stress, self-esteem, boundaries, life transitions, or simply feeling exhausted from always being the "strong one," we'll work collaboratively to help you move toward healing and growth. Most importantly, your first session is an opportunity to determine whether I am a good fit for you. Therapy works best when there is a strong connection and sense of trust, so I encourage you to ask questions and be open about what you're looking for in the therapeutic process. You don't have to carry everything alone. Therapy can be a space where you finally have support, too.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is warm, supportive, and person-centered, meaning I believe you are the expert on your own life. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. At the same time, I incorporate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, solution-focused therapy, and compassion-focused interventions to help you develop practical skills and lasting insight. What often stands out to clients is the balance between emotional support and actionable strategies. Together, we don't just talk about challenges—we identify patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, build healthier coping skills, and work toward tangible goals that improve daily life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults who are known as the "strong one" in their family, relationships, or community. They are dependable, caring, and often the person others lean on, yet they may struggle with anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and difficulty prioritizing their own needs. Together, we work to build self-compassion, establish healthy boundaries, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and create a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling.
