New to Grow
I am a wife, mother and woman of faith, who loves working with other women, as they move through the many challenges they face throughout their lives. I was a military spouse for 22 years, to my Air Force husband. I have been blessed to have lived all over the world. I currently reside with my family in San Antonio, Texas. I look forward to helping women of faith in the great state of Texas.
My goal is to provide a warm and safe space, where you can explore your emotions, relationships, and goals. Our first session will be centered around getting to know one another, then establishing therapeutic goals. The session will feel like having a casual conversation, rather than a stiff, clinical list of questions. At the end of session, we will discuss session frequency and schedule next session.
My strengths as a therapist are in helping clients discover their strengths, shift their perspective and focus their Christian world view. These discoveries often improve resiliency and self-esteem. leading to lasting change.
Being a woman is an incredible blessing, with endless challenges. If you are looking for an empathetic and warm therapist with a sunny perspective and sense of humor, I might be the right fit for you. I am the ideal counselor forChristian women, who are facing emotional barriers of depression, anxiety, worry, low self esteem and stress. I am also here to help women walk-through major life changes from adjusting to adulthood, romantic relationships, college/career to marriage pregnancy/parenthood, menopause and beyond. I am here to help clients lean on their faith as the foundation to improve perspective, problem solve and create purpose in their life’s journey. If you are ready to embrace lasting change, I am ready to be your biggest cheerleader.
Other specialties
I identify as
Christian Counseling
I am a board certified Christian Counselor, through National Association of Christian Counseling. I believe faith is the best compass for navigating most of life‘s issues. I work from a Christian world view to help clients improve perspective, find purpose and empowerment, leading to peace in everyday life. All of the therapeutic approaches I use are well aligned with Christian vowels.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I have been using ACT as one of my main therapeutic approaches for three years. I use this method to help clients identify, navigate, and accept difficult thoughts and emotions. With this knowledge I help create a plan to minimize discomfort from intrusive thoughts, and strong emotions, so clients establish a sense of well-being and empowerment.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a wonderful Therapy to help clients understand the relationship between thoughts, emotions and behaviors. With this knowledge, I help clients develop strategies to address intrusive thoughts, so they have better control over emotions and behaviors.
Positive Psychology
Positive psychology focuses on a client’s strengths, rather than a client’s faults. Identifying and using one’s strengths helps move clients to a positive perspective on their abilities. This shift of focus, helps clients, overcome barriers, and improve problem-solving. These skills can be used in all aspects of life’s journey.
Mind-body approach
Counseling should incorporate the whole person. Understanding the impact of environment, sleep, nutrition, and relationships on emotions can help clients improve mood and perspective, creating lasting positive change.
