Every person has a story. The culmination of experiences in one's life shapes how they view themselves, their relationships, and the world. I have a passion for helping clients celebrate their unique strengths and gifts they share with others. With experiences in both private practice and hospitals, I have noticed a particular need for clients to separate their view of themselves from their current difficulties and circumstances. In spite of where clients may find themselves at the moment, my belief is that they have overcome every difficulty, challenge, and trauma that they have faced up to the present moment. As such, they will withstand their current circumstances, and will again declare victory.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor with more than 25 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families. My professional background includes private practice, school-based mental health services, residential treatment, chemical dependency counseling, hospice, and home health. These experiences have strengthened my ability to help clients navigate anxiety, trauma, grief, behavioral concerns, family stress, major life transitions, and other complex challenges. For the past six years, I have worked in public school settings, primarily supporting students receiving special education services. In this role, I helped children, families, and school teams better understand the “why” behind behavior, develop effective coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and create practical supports that can be used at school, at home, and in the community. I have experience working with clients experiencing anxiety, ADHD, OCD, selective mutism, trauma-related concerns, depression, emotional dysregulation, self-harm behaviors, and behavioral challenges. I also understand the stress that parents and caregivers may experience while trying to support a child with emotional, behavioral, or developmental needs. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and practical. I work to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. Together, we identify patterns, build useful coping and communication skills, and develop realistic strategies that support meaningful and lasting change.

Hello! I’m so happy to share a little about myself. I am a licensed clinical social worker in Florida, and I care deeply about helping parents, birthing people, and families during important times in their lives. For the past 19 years, I have worked with people who are pregnant, have just had a baby, or are learning to be parents. I also support adults who are feeling anxious, sad, or stressed, or who are going through big changes in their lives. I want everyone I work with to feel seen, supported, and strong. I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Central Florida, and I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. This means I have special training to help people through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. Life can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about the road ahead. Whether you are walking through grief and loss, anxiety, relationship struggles, life transitions, or simply longing for a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationship with God, you don't have to walk that journey alone. Jesus Christ is the foundation of both my life and my counseling. I believe He is the source of hope, healing, truth, and lasting transformation. It is my privilege to humbly come alongside others, creating a safe and compassionate place to explore life's challenges while seeking the wisdom, freedom, and healing that God desires for each person. For those seeking Christian counseling, I thoughtfully integrate evidence-based counseling practices with biblical truth and the work of the Holy Spirit. My prayer is that every client leaves knowing they have been seen, heard, and loved, with renewed hope and confidence as God continues the work that only He can accomplish.

While we are working together, I take a collaborative approach to help you to achieve your goals and overcome the challenges you're facing in life. I am here to support and empower you on your personal journey. Recognizing when issues in life have become too much to handle alone and seeking assistance is a great first step on your healing journey. Oftentimes, clients feel stuck in the darkest places or have lost the spark of joy in their life. This could be due to difficult transitions in life, loss, various different fears or anxieties, or even uncertainty for direction on your path in life. If we are able to identify the how and why of our emotions and actions, we can start to improve and change our behaviors that hinder us. When we become more aware of our emotions, thoughts, and actions, we can move steadily toward the life we dream of. As a play therapist, not only am I passionate about working with children and teens, but also adults who would like to explore their inner child to bring creativity, joy, and playfulness back into their lives. I often use art, storytelling, metaphor, or visual aids when appropriate, to facilitate growth and learning key coping skills. I have helped many clients grow and move through the lingering effects and pains of trauma or life transitions, whether recent or long buried. I can help in facilitating growth and healing after difficult and often excruciating experiences, while progressing at your pace and comfort level. I work with clients who often worry they are “not good enough” just as they are or struggle with anger or anxiety about how the world might treat them. We can work together to help you learn to love yourself for who you are, not what others say or expect you to be. My clients include people who struggle with anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, as well as those who identify as LGBTQ+ or gender non-conforming. I can offer a sliding scale for cash pay. Contact me today to see if we are the right fit to start your healing journey. I can’t wait to meet you!

Reaching out for support can be one of the hardest parts of starting therapy. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Therapy can be a space to slow down, talk openly about what you’re experiencing, and gain a different perspective on the challenges you’re facing. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. My style is warm, conversational, and thoughtfully questioning. Rather than simply telling you what to do, I’ll help you explore your thoughts, recognize patterns, make connections, and identify practical steps that feel realistic for your life. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, build effective coping skills, identify solutions, and work toward meaningful goals. Because no two people have the same experiences or needs, treatment is collaborative and individualized to you. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult transition, struggling with anxiety or depression, or simply recognizing that something in your life needs to change, you don’t have to work through it alone. Taking the first step can feel intimidating, but reaching this point means you’ve already started. Let’s take the next step together.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Texas. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
