I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in New York and Texas, providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. As a therapist of Caribbean descent, I bring a culturally responsive lens to my work and understand the importance of identity, family, and community in the healing process. I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions. I also support clients from diverse and underserved communities, including those managing cultural expectations, generational experiences, and systemic stressors. My goal is to create a space where your full story is respected and valued. In addition to therapy, I provide immigration evaluations and approach this work with care, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity. I understand how important it is to feel safe when sharing your experiences, and I strive to ensure that process feels supportive and empowering. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and practical. Together, we will explore patterns, build coping strategies, and develop tools that you can apply in your everyday life. I focus on helping you gain clarity, improve emotional balance, and create lasting, meaningful change. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult transition, or simply ready to prioritize your mental health, you do not have to do it alone. I am here to support you in building the insight, confidence, and skills needed to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel a mix of emotions. My goal in our first session is to create a space where you feel comfortable, respected, and at ease. We’ll begin by getting to know each other. I’ll ask about what brought you to therapy, any current challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once, you can go at your own pace. I’ll also ask a few questions about your background, including your support system, stressors, and any past experiences with therapy. This helps me better understand your needs and how to support you in a way that feels right for you. We’ll talk about your goals and begin identifying areas you’d like to focus on. I’ll also explain how I work, answer any questions you may have, and make sure you feel clear about next steps. Most importantly, this session is about building connection and trust. By the end, you should have a sense of whether I’m the right fit for you and if so, we’ll begin creating a plan to support your growth, healing, and overall well-being.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and understood. I understand that opening up can be difficult, and I work intentionally to build trust so you can feel comfortable being your authentic self. As a therapist of Caribbean descent, I bring a culturally responsive and inclusive approach to my work. I recognize how culture, family dynamics, and lived experiences shape mental health, and I ensure that these factors are respected and integrated into our work together. I also take a collaborative and practical approach to therapy. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method—together, we tailor strategies that fit your life, your goals, and your pace. I focus on helping you develop real, usable tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and navigate challenges outside of sessions. Clients often appreciate my ability to balance empathy with honest, supportive feedback. I will meet you with compassion, while also helping you identify patterns, build insight, and move toward meaningful change. Above all, I am committed to helping you feel empowered, not just in session, but in your everyday life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I support clients in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, challenging cognitive distortions, and developing healthier, more balanced perspectives. I also incorporate behavioral activation and practical coping strategies to help manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. My approach to CBT is collaborative, structured, and culturally responsive, empowering clients with tools they can apply in their daily lives.

Strength-Based

I use a Strengths-Based approach to help clients recognize and build upon their existing resilience, skills, and lived experiences. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I work collaboratively with clients to identify personal strengths, protective factors, and past successes that can support growth and healing. This approach fosters empowerment, confidence, and a greater sense of self-efficacy throughout the therapeutic process.
