As a Clinical Social Worker Supervisor, I Jolanna "Jodi" Watson-Brown am licensed to diagnose and treat mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders. Such difficulties occur to us as humans every day and we don't have to go through these things alone. We will work together to develop strategies to change behavior or cope with difficult situations. I specialize in supporting those dealing with chronic illness, life's transitions and learning to truly love and heal from within. I am also a facilitator of support groups of caregivers, cancer survivors and healthcare compassion exhaustion professionals. I utilize the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model to guide our work together. Professional work experience includes a vast skill set in the complex healthcare field working with diverse populations and our great veterans as a Certified case manager. Therefore, solution focused therapy can also be utilized for long term planning needs, resources and care coordination assistance. I would be honored to support you in your journey of personal growth and healing.
Available to you is a consultation call which is a brief time to ask questions, learn more about my approach and decide if you feel you would like to move forward to schedule an initial session. If you decide to move forward, assessment forms and insurance information will be coordinated. The Initial session will be a time of collecting information about background and current home life. Expect many questions for the initial session. I want to learn all about you! Thereafter we will develop a treatment plan with goals and objectives to work at achieving what you desire.

I work with a vast diverse population from all adult ages including a passion for working with Seniors and Veterans. I love helping young people to also navigate life's transitions. I have helped many families with life changes as well as couples struggling with changes in their journey as well. I have no doubt that we can connect and work on goals together.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a great tool that most Clinicians utilize in efforts to make positive change to the mindset. It focuses on present circumstances and emotions in real time. A clinician who practices CBT will to learn about the whole person, family history and usual human interactions to get a better sense of the entire person. The emphasis is on what a person is telling themselves, your thought processes that might result in symptoms of anxiety or mood dysregulation. A person is then encouraged to address rational concerns practically, and to challenge irrational beliefs, rumination or catastrophizing.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is a therapy preference of this Clinician. It is preferred to remember the positives and work to empower the client. According to psychology today, it is counseling method that helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior. It is a practical, empathetic, and short-term process that takes into consideration how difficult it is to make life changes.

This Clinician believes in the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model and that spirituality is very important to most people and can help in the healing journey and growth to our best selves overall.
Strength-Based
This Clincian believes we all have strengths and should remember to tap into those strong suits we hold and work to identify them to help us cope with life's challenges. The approach is highly dependent on how the individual processes their thoughts and emotions. It allows for open communication, encouraging individuals to identify value and assemble their strengths and capacities.
Supportive
Supportive therapy is important to provide through some many challenges including grief, divorce, health care challenges and more. Search and you will find that psychotherapy is a type of therapy that primarily focuses on providing emotional support, encouragement, and validation during difficult life circumstances or psychological challenges. Your therapist will encourage you to talk about your feelings, concerns, and problems in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.
