LPCMH, 17 years of experience
Hi, I’m Julie. I’m a therapist with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges—including anxiety, depression, trauma, and major transitions. I’ve had the privilege of working with people of all ages in a variety of settings, which has deepened my respect for each person’s unique journey. My style is warm and collaborative, grounded in trust, compassion, and genuine respect. I use an eclectic, strength-based approach to help clients build practical tools, navigate difficulties, and reconnect with what matters most. Above all, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly understood—because healing begins when you feel seen and accepted just as you are.
If you’re here, it likely means you’re ready to explore support, growth, or change, and I’m honored to be part of that process with you. Our first session is a chance to get to know each other and begin building a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust and collaboration. I’ll share a bit about my background and approach, and we’ll explore what brings you to therapy and the personal goals or changes you’d like to work toward. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready for—we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered.
My greatest strengths lie in my flexibility, clinical insight, and strong intuition. These qualities allow me to adapt my approach to each client’s unique needs and respond thoughtfully to what’s happening in the moment. I’m able to recognize patterns, hold space for complexity, and guide clients through challenges with clarity and compassion. Ultimately, I aim to help individuals uncover their own strengths, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence and self-awareness.
I am best positioned to work with clients who are motivated for change and open to engaging in the therapeutic process with authenticity and reflection. Those who are willing to explore their internal experiences—thoughts, emotions, and patterns—with curiosity and courage tend to make meaningful progress. Therapy can involve both gradual shifts and significant breakthroughs, and clients who are willing to access their strengths, tolerate discomfort, and remain open to new perspectives often experience the most growth.
In sessions, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT offers practical tools to identify and shift unhelpful thinking patterns that can contribute to stress, anxiety, and depression. I work collaboratively with clients to build skills that foster more helpful perspectives and support meaningful behavior change.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is another approach I often integrate. ACT helps us become more open and accepting of uncomfortable thoughts and emotions rather than fighting against them. At the same time, it guides us in identifying what truly matters—your values—and taking intentional steps toward those values. I find ACT incredibly empowering for clients who are looking to live with greater clarity and purpose, even during challenging times.
Mindfulness is woven throughout much of the work I do. I support clients in cultivating awareness of the present moment with curiosity and compassion. Whether we’re using breathwork, grounding practices, or mindful reflection, these tools can help quiet the noise of everyday life and deepen your connection to your own needs and experiences. Mindfulness fosters self-compassion, emotional regulation, and a greater sense of calm.
At the heart of my work is a strong belief in a strength-based approach. I focus on helping you recognize and build on your existing inner resources, resilience, and values. No matter what challenges you’re facing, I believe that each person brings strengths into the room—whether it's courage, creativity, insight, or perseverance. Therapy becomes a space not just to work through difficulties, but also to uncover and amplify what’s already working for you.
I take an eclectic approach to therapy, which means I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities to best meet the unique needs of each individual I work with. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor my interventions to fit your goals, preferences, and strengths. This flexibility allows us to find what truly resonates with you and supports your personal growth in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.
