Hello! I’m Julie Scott, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina, and a Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) in Delaware. I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University. I have over 17 years of experience in counseling and wellness. As a self-driven mother of two, I understand the importance of balance and resilience in navigating life’s challenges.
Throughout our work together, you can expect a collaborative and supportive space where your experiences, challenges, and goals are explored with care and intention. Therapy with me is a process of growth, healing, and self-discovery. Together, we’ll uncover patterns, build insight, and develop practical tools uniquely tailored to your needs—tools that help you navigate life with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence. Whether you're addressing specific concerns or seeking deeper personal understanding, I aim to help you feel more empowered, more connected, and more aligned with your values.
I have been told by my clients on multiple occasions that it is very easy to talk to me and that they feel truly heard. I take pride in creating a warm, approachable environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences. By meeting each client where they are, I tailor sessions to their unique needs and goals, fostering a collaborative and supportive relationship.
I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds across all age groups. With extensive experience working with children, teens, and adults, I offer personalized yet holistic approach to address challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, and stress. My methodology is warm, collaborative, and strength-based, drawing from multiple therapeutic strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Trauma-informed care.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps clients explore the ways their thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interconnected. Patterns of distorted or self-defeating thinking lead to negative emotional states such as anxiety, depression, irritability, and anger and these lead to unhealthy behaviors. The process of cognitive behavioral therapy involves identifying and modifying unhealthy thought patterns to improve emotional well-being and develop better coping skills. Once you notice these patterns of distorted or self-defeating thinking, you can begin learning how to change your negative thinking patterns and develop new coping strategies, healthier thought patterns and healthier behaviors. The new strategies you learn will help you relieve your symptoms, develop a greater sense of confidence, enhance your self-esteem, and improve your relationships.
Mindfulness techniques help maintain focus on the present moment without judgment. I will help you learn and practice mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, visualization, meditation, and mindfulness art. These techniques help reduce stress, improve focus, increase self-awareness, and balance your mental and emotional health.
