Prior to being a therapist, I found myself listening and caring, as people would end up just talking to me and telling me their life story. I decided I should put that to good use. Additionally, growing up my family was fortunate to be able to adopt and quickly we became a larger family that could not remember when my sister was not part of the family. Through the process, I realized how important family and relationships. I appreciate and look forward to the chance to help others get through the rough patches, when life hits hard. When the answer is not easily found, we take time to look at all the options and find something, at least one step towards better. We're not looking for perfection, just looking for progress, a little bit here and there.

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida as well as a certified EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist. I specialize in working with people who feel overworked for other people in their life while feeling underappreciated and left alone, feeling confused about who they are and what they can do to gain a sense of control back in their life. I became a psychotherapist because I've experienced the need to have someone who can show me what I could not see because they have a genuine interest in my well-being and potential. After a career in the corporate world, I "reinvented" by going back to school to obtain a masters degree in counseling. I have worked at the VA, FL civil commitment prison, a psychiatric hospital and for the last five years counsel for a local hospital system serving a diverse population. Married, 5 kids, (3 adopted), cats and dogs, successes and failures in both business and personal life. I continue to learn how to navigate life's challenges and find meaning and purpose helping others. I practice CBT, ACT, and mindfulness, but believe the client's language should drive their journey.
