Hello, my name is Nicole M. Thweatt, LMHC, PhD. I enjoy providing an array of therapeutic services to those in need. Over the course of 18 years in the mental health field, I have experience working with domestic violence victims, family conflict, trauma-related incidents, and emotional and behavioral matters to include depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, low self-esteem, difficulties communicating to include social matters, etc. I can provide domestic violence awareness, conflict resolution and empowerment training, assertive communication skill training, anger management, and parent support. Services I offer include individual, family, and couples therapy with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral, trauma-informed care, brief-solution focused and psychoeducational therapeutic modalities during sessions. Please note that each session conducted will be personalized to fit your needs once an individualized treatment plan is established, which will take place at our first session. The most significant goal I wish to help others with is to improve overall psychological, behavioral, social, spiritual, and developmental health, so that a more flourishing life can be lived and maintained. Every human being was meant to thrive and deserves to reach his or her destination. Please feel free to reach out so that I can help .
In the first session, I like to start the rapport building process. Part of this process is getting to know the individual and what resulted in them seeking out therapeutic services. From there, we will then work on establishing goals based on reason for seeking counseling.
Biggest strengths are being present, providing a sense of direction based on needs, and being authentic. Furthermore, many of the clients I treat have experienced some type of trauma in their life and have not truly had their voice heard. Due to the latter, this is one of the main reasons I take a trauma informed care approach when treating clients.
I love working with individuals who need help navigating through life's challenges. The challenges we face in life bring about different thoughts and emotions that can result in a sense of anxiety at times. Thus, I enjoy working on finding healthy ways to manage this anxiety.
This particular treatment method is used to help connect thoughts, emotions and behaviors. By being able to connect how thoughts dictate emotions, this can help with improving upon behaviors.
