Welcome! I'm Emmanuel Nzuzu. I want to thank you sincerely for reaching out to me. Congratulations for taking this crucial first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe, structured, and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore challenges and obstacles with concerns related to alcohol and drug addiction, stress, anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients to regain control by taking back their power from alcohol and drugs. I facilitate client transformation by assisting them to learn how to be guided by a vision of the future and not memories of the past. My clients often find it beneficial to develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

I’m a licensed mental health counselor with over a decade of experience supporting individuals who are struggling with depression and anxiety. I understand how isolating and overwhelming it can feel to navigate these challenges, and how much courage it takes to seek support. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and genuinely supported. My therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion and grounded in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also bring extensive experience in grief work, helping clients move through loss and life transitions with care and understanding. For those who desire it, I’m able to integrate a Christian perspective into our work together. Whether it’s drawing strength from faith, exploring spiritual questions, or grounding our sessions in biblical principles, I honor and support each client’s individual beliefs and values. Healing is a deeply personal journey, and I believe that with the right support, you can overcome what feels impossible today. Together, we’ll work to ease the weight of anxiety or depression, develop meaningful coping strategies, and help you reconnect with hope, purpose, and inner peace.

Hello, my name is Robin! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over five years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. My approach to therapy is compassionate, creative, and grounded in building genuine connections. I believe that every person has the capacity for growth and healing, and I work to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood. My personal journey has given me a deep understanding of life’s joys and challenges, allowing me to connect with clients in a genuine and compassionate way. I understand that each person’s story is unique, and I tailor my approach to meet the individual needs of those I work with. In sessions, I often incorporate experiential and hands-on tools to make therapy engaging and practical, helping clients apply what they learn in real and lasting ways. Outside the therapy room, you’ll often find me spending time with my kids, tending to my garden, staying active through exercise, or enjoying creative projects and crafting. I value creativity both personally and professionally, and I love bringing that spirit into my work to help clients feel empowered, supported, and equipped for their own journeys of growth.

Hi, I am Kamala, a FL LMHC. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Jacksonville University in 2003 and my master's in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2015. I have worked as a mental health counselor for five years. However, I have been in the field of helping people for 18 years, starting as a case manager at a homeless shelter and later as a special education teacher. What can I can say? People are my niche. Helping individuals get through life's difficulties is my purpose. The thing about it is, we may not be able to live 100% symptom-free, but we can live productive, fulfilling lives even with some discomfort. That may sound daunting, but I think it's realistic. Do you know why? Because even when we get through one thing, another thing is somewhere on the timeline waiting. I'm here to help you get through your "thing" now and prepare you for your "thing" later. Hope to meet you soon.

I would describe myself as a goofy and radically empathetic therapist that struggles with severe ADHD and also anxiety. Not to mention the grief! I am big on being vulnerable myself. We must lead by example. I also am a strong believer in the power of connection. If you cannot connect with your therapist, research says that therapy is not likely to be effective. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship above all else. That is my foundation. That means I pride myself on not being a robot. I cannot believe I have to say this, but many students in therapy have told me that they have had robotic therapist. That is not me. I believe the most powerful therapeutic techniques are empathy and unconditional love, and those are the values I do my best to display consistently. I currently provide individual counseling to students at Miami Dade College and I have found that I really enjoy working with college students that recently graduated from high school. I find that the world treats them cruelly at such an overwhelming time of their lives and they deserve unconditional love, not tough love.

Hello! My name is Dan, and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I am passionate about my profession and enjoy helping my clients achieve their individual goals. It is exciting to see a client go from where they were to where they want to be in their lives! This is all achieved by tailoring my sessions to the needs of each person I work with. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Hi, I’m CJ, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist making me ideally situation to work with individuals, families, and couples, creating lasting change by fostering a space where they feel seen and heard. Here, you can lay down the mask you have been carrying and embrace who you are beneath it's confines. We all develop behaviors to navigate life’s challenges. Some help us feel comfortable or seen, while others are employed as survival mechanisms. A behavior will only work for us until it no longer serves us; what succeeded in one setting may fail in another. They are not one size fits all. My goal in working with a client is to help them see the difference, meet it with curiosity, and then move towards which behaviors need adjusting. In a world rewarding performance, we cut through the noise so you can embrace who you are, not who you feel you are expected to be.

Are you experiencing frustration, confusion or turmoil in your life? Even to the point where you see no sense of direction while trying to navigate through life? At times, this can be overwhelming for individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, including other mental health disorders. Hi! My name is Stephaney and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with almost a decade of experience in treating adults and adolescents for various mental health challenges and co-occurring diagnoses. I was inspired to become a therapist by my unique experience migrating to the United States at the age of 13 and attending middle school which was very challenging for me. Culture shock became my reality and one that would eventually lead me to “Severe anxiety.” Even with a very strong family support system, I felt alone and trapped by my own inner fears and self-defeating thoughts. Constant worry and fear of being bullied by my peers became my everyday experience. Through all these obstacles, I was able to process my feelings and experiences with my faith in Jesus Christ, supportive family, and a few good friends. To this extent, I have come to recognize the benefits of a strong support system and the need for social and relational connection. As a mental health counselor, I’m privileged to be a part of that support system for many people. I work with my clients to connect the dots between their thoughts, emotions, and actions, all while providing sound strategies to promote healthier thought processes. I believe that every human being deserves a chance to be heard and understood, and therapy has taught me that as human beings, we are more alike than different. So as your therapist, I’m excited to be a listening ear for you and help guide you toward your goals.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Florida rather than a city like Tampa?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
