LMHC, 34 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a 71-year-old therapist with 34 years of experience helping people navigate life’s challenges. Married for 49 years, I am blessed with three grown children who continue to inspire me. My approach to counseling is grounded in a person-centered philosophy that values empathy, acceptance, and respect, while also maintaining healthy boundaries that support growth and accountability. I believe each individual has the capacity to find their own unique path toward healing and purpose, and my role is to walk alongside them as they discover it. Drawing from decades of professional experience and a lifetime of personal relationships, I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and values. My goal is not to direct or dictate, but to guide and encourage, helping each person gain clarity, develop resilience, and move toward the life they were meant to live.
The first session is a meet-and-greet where we get to know each other and exchange important background information. We will take a brief look at your concerns, define the main problem you want to address, and discuss possible approaches we can take to work toward your goals.
My greatest strengths come from both professional and personal experience. With over three decades in the counseling field, raising three children to adulthood, and 49 years of marriage, I bring a depth of understanding, perspective, and practical wisdom to every client I work with.
I work with adults, whether single or in relationships, who are facing life’s challenges of any kind. I also serve children ages 12 and up, addressing academic difficulties, mood concerns, sibling conflicts, lifestyle transitions, and relational struggles. My goal is to provide support, guidance, and practical tools for lasting growth.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Together, we build practical coping strategies that address current challenges and promote healthier ways of thinking and responding.
I use Brainspotting to help clients access and process unresolved trauma, emotions, and experiences stored in the body. By identifying specific eye positions, we can unlock and release deep-seated distress that may not surface through traditional talk therapy alone.
I provide Christian counseling from a biblical worldview, integrating the truths of Scripture with sound counseling practices. My goal is to help clients find hope, healing, and direction by aligning their thoughts, emotions, and actions with God’s Word. In this process, we seek both personal growth and spiritual transformation, trusting in God’s guidance and grace.
