About me

I’m Sonia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience helping individuals find hope, healing, and strength during life’s most challenging moments. My own journey through anxiety, depression, and emotional pain has shaped my warm, compassionate approach to therapy and deepened my understanding of what true healing takes. I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions, offering a safe, welcoming space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we’ll explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you, using evidence-based tools and a personalized, heart-centered approach to build coping strategies that nurture growth and resilience. My goal is to walk beside you—helping you reconnect with your strengths, restore balance, and create a life that feels fulfilling, authentic, and empowered.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, my goal is to create a warm and comfortable space where you feel safe to share your story at your own pace. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brought you to therapy, and exploring your goals and hopes for the process. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—I’ll guide the conversation with compassion and curiosity, helping you feel supported and understood. Together, we’ll begin laying the foundation for our work, focusing on building trust, connection, and a shared understanding of how we can best support your growth and healing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

A unique therapeutic approach is the deep empathy and understanding I bring from my own experiences with anxiety, depression, and emotional pain. I know what it’s like to feel stuck or overwhelmed, and that personal insight allows me to connect with clients on a genuine, compassionate level focusing not just on reducing symptoms, but on helping you rediscover hope, confidence, self-love and self-compassion.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m here to support adults who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or weighed down by life’s challenges and transitions. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, past trauma, or simply trying to find your footing again, I offer a warm and supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, helping you build practical tools to manage stress, heal emotional pain, and rediscover your sense of balance and confidence.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy methods help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors. Clients will learn to recognize the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions, and to replace negative or distorted thinking with more balanced, realistic perspectives. This collaborative, evidence-based approach empowers clients to take an active role in managing their symptoms and improving overall functioning.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Therapy methods (SFBT) help clients identify their strengths, resources, and previous successes to create practical solutions for their current challenges. Rather than focusing on problems or past difficulties, I guide clients to envision their preferred future and explore small, achievable steps that move them closer to that goal. This goal-oriented and empowering approach fosters hope, motivation, and progress in a relatively short period of time.

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) techniques help clients heal from emotional pain by creating a safe, supportive, and attuned therapeutic relationship. AEDP focuses on accessing and processing core emotions in the present moment, allowing clients to experience and integrate feelings that were previously avoided or suppressed. Clients learn to transform distress into resilience, self-compassion, and a deeper sense of connection with themselves and others.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Behavioral Therapy techniques help clients develop awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment. Clients learn to observe their experiences rather than react automatically, creating space for more intentional and adaptive responses. Clients also build emotional regulation, reduce stress, and increase self-compassion and a more balanced way of relating to life’s challenges.

Christian Counseling

For those clients who wish to integrate their faith into their therapeutic journey, relying on the wisdom of God's World and the transformation of His guidance.
