Hello! My name is Dan, and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I am passionate about my profession and enjoy helping my clients achieve their individual goals. It is exciting to see a client go from where they were to where they want to be in their lives. I love to help those who are struggling in their personal or work relationships learn how to better communicate their needs and improve the quality of those relationships! This is all achieved by tailoring my sessions to the needs of each person I work with. One of the most powerful effects I have found in therapy is providing a safe space where you are heard, understood, and accepted. We all have stress and struggles at times and there is great healing in exploring and touching those feelings. Let's work together towards your goals!
The first session is about us getting to know each other, and your goals for therapy. When we build a positive therapeutic relationship, it helps with your success and reaching your goals. We will plan out short and long term goals to help get you where you need to be, decreasing stressors and unwanted feelings, and increasing quality of life.
My biggest strengths in therapy are providing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and a safe space to be who you are. I can reflect and feel with you your experiences, and be consistent in that to make sense of your thoughts and feelings. I help create a roadmap toward your long term goals that includes small steps to get there. Your short-term successes provide the fuel of motivation, clear the path in front of you, and give you the mindset you need to take more control in your life.
The person who is going to get the most out of therapy is one who is sick and tired of where they are, and is certainly ready for change. I can help the person best who is wanting to walk alongside with me in taking action steps to achieve short and long term goals. Mr. Dean has been a huge help for me both mentally and spiritually. I’m glad that his guidance to the right direction has helped me improve in a lot of ways. I hope to continue to improve and grow.

I really liked Mr. Dean. He was really down-to-earth. He had a lot of solutions to offer. I personally felt like he UNDERSTOOD my feelings, and that meant more than being empathetic. I also felt as if he was very non-judgmental, and accepted my lifestyle and personality. He also had a great vocabulary, that helped strengthen my vocabulary. Out of 100, I would grade him 100. :) He's cool. :)

Dan is great. He is really encouraging and very helpful. The coping skills and encouragement he has given me have really helped me throughout this whole process. Highly recommended!
We create short and long term goals and focus on action steps to help you achieve them together.
I focus on thoughts, feelings, and reactions in sessions to eliminate unwanted thoughts and feelings and replace them with new ones that are more effective.
I walk along side with you towards your goals of decreasing unwanted feelings and stress. I reflect and empathize to build the therapeutic relationship to help therapy to be more effective.
I incorporate Bible centered principles and values into therapy to heal stressors and help resolve issues.
